Im'a hangin! Im one of those people who get knocked down, sits there for a few mins and gets back up and keeps walking. I go with the flow and where it takes me, letting God take me where I need to go. He did happen though to bring me to a wonderful man I love more than anything. Sometimes my world can be complete... (Insert choice word here) but there are these little gifts that can make all the garbage more dealable
:) You're welcome babe, glad I am here for you.
Okay my turn to rant again. Holy crap...okay so the other day our new Actiontec PK5000 modem came from QWEST, it was working just fine and I had done some port forwarding on the modem's static IP page (the 192.168 etc...). Well, I clicked the "reboot" modem on the page so the modem would reboot and let my settings take effect....after that the modem would not come on at all properly.
Basically it woud act like it would boot up normally, the power and dsl (and ethernet light) would come on and stay green for about a minute or two. Then the dsl light would shut off, the power light would go red, the internet and wireless lights would come on and be like that for about two minutes before reverting back to the previous state. It would do this no matter what, I even did a hard reboot of the modem by pressing the reset button in the back.
I had been calling QWEST (who even was able to finally fix our internet connection line to the house), and Orbit Comm, who is our Internet Provider the last several days, explaining the situation with the modem. I was not able to get anyone to help me at all. Well
finally this morning a gal from Orbit Comm who knew what was going on called us and had determined the modem itself some how became faulty. So she did a three way conference call with a guy from QWEST and QWEST is over-nighting us a new modem. They don't deliver on the weekends so it'll be here on Monday.
Our old Actiontec DSL Gateway modem still works, so we're using that one as a temporary until the replacement one comes. Still though, the fact I had to spend the last several days to get ahold of someone to tell me that the modem was faulty, is just mind boggling.
Oh and on top of that, we upgraded to 1.5mbps speed but it seems the line into our house can't handle that connection as it keeps going unstable. So by a standard thing QWEST has to lower our connection back down to 256k..which I guess will be fine.
All I can say is I'm glad I finally got this all straightened out now.
