Title: How many books have you read?
Post by: Jagged Fel on May 11, 2012, 09:52:50 AM
I thought it might be interesting to see how many EU books everyone has read, has anyone read them all?I have read 54 so far and have many to go,to me the EU books keep the Star Wars magic alive(besides lightsabers).Hopefully we will see some more stories come out in between the OT movies and between episode 3 and 4 :)

I've got what looks like several 1000 in PDF format. Started reading the bane series and loving it. Plenty more to go.

I did read the Jedi apprentice as a kid so I guess I've read around 20

I've read a few but IMO the best one that adds to the movies is "Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader" by James Luceno.  It's what Ep. III should have been.  It adds tons of depth to the Anakin/Vader transformation.  Recommend.

50 per year,now that's a lot of reading,i'd be doing good to get in 15-20 a year.

Guestimating between 15-18K...oh wait...SW books? 40 or so...I was more of a trekkie [gasp!] in the eighties and nineties except for the Thrawn trilogy but am trying to catch up when the library gets SW books in [all my $ goes to sabers lol]

Just the EU books. It's hard to say, but I bought most of them I'm sure. Young Jedi Apprentice with Obi-wan and Qui-gon Jinn. Young Jedi Knights series. I never counted them before, but I'd say all the EU books only total 150 tops. I have just over 100 books in hardcover and paperback.

there are 174 adult EU novels and 134 young adults, lots of graphic novels- hard to count, by issue? by series?

I used to read a book a 400 page novel a week, but with work picking up and no down time as well as these pesky kids :)

I just haven't found the time to read much anymore.  There's a few series/novels I want to catch up on.

I have a pile I bought that I'm trying to catch up on. Currently still reading the Bane trilogy 8) So awesome.

Then it'll be the Thrawn Trilogy!

Oh and I'm also reading the Legacy comics.

I read the Thrawn Trilogy when it first came out and loved it. For me it was episodes seven, eight and nine. I haven't read any of the others. I think the reason is that with so many books by so many authors I was worried that the 'magic' might be lost somewhere along the line (much as it often is with comics that are handed from one writer to the next).

I'll admit that I'm tempted by the Bane Trilogy though. :)

Def read the Bane series, Drew K. really gives life to the sinister Sith Lord and his machinations. Worth the read for sure.

Right on! The Bane series are very worth the read. I probably can read the first one over and over again. right now I am in the middle of Darth Plagueis, I am a very slow reader. I haven't read much, I mainly like books on the Sith side of things. Next is Revan.

I'm on 54 SW EU. Plus whatever else takes my fancy. In Feb/march I read the game of thrones books. I've only just finished reading Misery, what a book though.

this may be an oldy but anyone like Anne Rice?  i love her Vampire chronicles. read all of them. they should really think about making another movie, since the whole vampire thing is like "in" right now. i know the last one they did sucked but the first one (Interview with a Vampire) was amazing.

As far as Star Wars books, I've probably read approx. 50 of them give or take a couple.
I started with the Thrawn Trilogy, then read the novels based on the original movies, and then went on from there... NJO, Legacy of the Force, Fate of the Jedi, individual books like Outbound Flight, I, Jedi, Darth Bane's Trilogy and many others in between. Maybe that would be more than 50! Lol

I've also read some of the graphic novels such as the Legacy series.

I haven't read nearly as many as most people here, but I'm sure I have a solid count as well.  I remember reading a number of the "younger" novels like Mission to Mount Yoda, and lately I've been on a marathon journey through New Jedi Order, Dark Nest, and Legacy of the Force (I'm just finishing Inferno).  It's a great series!

I've read ~46 books, several e-books, and a handful of graphic novels. My favorites are definitely Zahn's Thrawn series, followed by the Bane trilogy, and the X-Wing series.

A lot haha, I own all the ones I have read. Every book set after ROTJ, currently halfway through NJO, a bit put off by the whole change in cannon thing and busy with college, will get to it eventually. The Lord Bane books, and movie novels. Really want to read Kenobi. I own around 45 books.
