Title: Ki-Adi-Mundi
Post by: erv on May 02, 2010, 11:01:02 AM
This is the CFV5 "demo" saber  :)
Very nice hilt from the TriClound Run, very nice work, I got the PCed version and tried my best to polish the aluminium part (my first real attempt to polishing with a buffing wheel)

I do believe that either TriCloud or Ki-Adi have a secret meaning in a mandalorian cryptic dialect. The deep meaning is for sure Cram-Fu. The ID of the hilt is 1.062".

Features
- CFV5
- 10W Ledengin with Flash On Clash (FoC) via power xtender
- 1" speaker (8 ohm)
- Custom  2 cell li-ion pack
- Invisible recharge port
- 3/4" blade holder to be converted to 7/8"
- Working bargraph with power, ignition and PLI Fx
- Working + lit Aux Switch
- Brass screw as Activator

Video (in 2 parts) I do appologize for my boring english. Slow to warm up in english mode + I'm tired = Total lack of style. I'm working on that  :) I've almost banned "way" when I speak. Now I have to slow down on my "there ya go".

This looks nice, I like the LEDs on the side. I'm impressed once again by the skill of the sabersmiths on this board! The V5 is nice.

I had to go wash my tongue off after it hit the floor watching that hehe. Very nice demonstration erv and I love my Ki-Adi hilt as well. Can't wait for the V5 to come out and hope to get one :)

This is by far my favorite Ki Adi to date!  Love the details Erv'.

There are just no words to describe V5, so I'll leave it at that :D

very nice, the force effect in particular seems far more precise and easier to trigger than on the v4,s . a giant leap in saber sound technology , brilliant work erv.

I'm liking the ignition variations based on angle and the gesture recognition is amazing...once again you've raised the bar to spectacular new heights.

I'm now down to the finish line. Still, many things to solder to complete the batch, but I needed that saber finished so that I could tune the sensitivity parameters with an actual hilt. No surprise, the settings are very similar to V4, for this saber, I just increased sensitivity a bit since the boar is located to the upper part of the saber (trade off to have this chassis...).
Will post news about the sales by the end of this week which should be less busy at work.

SWEET! I almost have mine dialed in. I have figured out most of the parameters, but not all of them.

Nice Erv'! Looks great, and the FoC fits it perfectly.

I'm curious: Who did the opening title screen "Plecter Labs"? It looks amazing! :o

I thought he did! It had Mike's signature on it. Yeah, he's better than I am at it. He tried to teach me some things about After-Effects :o. I chose to stick with good ole' Photoshop. Looks great Erv' :).

Erv, thank you for 3 great vids. I really like this saber. I bought the chrome version though and installed a Mace MR board and used the transistors to utilize the bar graph, though not as cool as yours. I hope I'm fortunate enough to be in the right place when  a CF comes up.

Oh and I was looking through your build tutorials on your site, I really like the Airsoft DL-44 you put together. if only we could get airsoft like pistols into Australia.
Ooo Roo for now
