DCLS-003 (AKA "The Lucky Padawan")

This is a build I did for my 10yr old nephew so he and I can play before the big premiere. It was a bit of challenge because of the size and the fact that the main handle is the ribbed extension with smaller ID than normal. The bulk of the electronics are housed inside the ribbed section. The recharge port wiring is routed through channels in the speaker mount. And to make assembly easier, I stripped the threads in the pommel insert and opted to use the nut to hold it in place. A simple, humble build, but I think it looks great and I'm sure he's gonna go crazy over it.

It's nicknamed the Lucky Padawan because he's darn lucky he has such an awesome uncle  :cool:

He is indeed a lucky Padawan and you are indeed an awesome uncle for building this for him. The brass accent parts are an especially nice touch. Well Done!

Nice work on the shroud. Great looking saber.

Tip for the recharge port. When fitting them in mhs pommel insert. Tighten the nut down on the socket and then screw directly in to the pommel insert it will then sit flush, so the nasty nut does not ruin the look. Just make sure the insert can move freely when screwing pommel on and off.

Very good pointer I will keep in mind for next time. I noticed that the insert spins after I stripped the threads...derp :/
