totally bragging here:
I was there to meet one of the children who got a saber that kicked off the whole idea (back in October). The look on his face any time there was ANY saber around, and after talking to his mom, she said that he now sleeps with his saber (well, who doesn't), it was well worth the donations that I gave, and it made me sorry that I wouldn't be around to help hand out the rest.
I have no interaction with children, let alone little boys, but watching him, 'duelling with him' (ever see a grown woman screaming like a little girl and getting chased by a pint sized sith lord? Well no one else did either - it was pitch dark) and playing with him gave me a whole new respect for mothers, and made me realize that the SW universe will NEVER go away. And I'm very glad of that.
