12mm AV Switch, Gold w/white ring

I know it's a total longshot, but I need a 12mm AV switch with a white ring that's gold/brass instead of chrome/silver. I've got a silver one now but it just doesn't look quite right in this saber...  :-\

you can  polish the chrome right off to reveal  a copper underneath.

I didn't even think of that! I will sand an unexposed section to see if the color is right.

This is true if you got the chrome plated brass.  Some AV switches are stainless though, so that wouldn't work if it is that type.

Are 16mm made out of aluminum?

IDK   I would never use one they look to big for my taste..  but I would say no.  chrome plating  on Aluminum would be achieved by bright dipping where there is a 60/40 rule  so the threads would be wonky   the threads are already  8.5 on the 12mm    not much there on the 16mm either which is probably the same pitch..

The 16mm are nickel plated brass or stainless just like the 12mm.  Just depends on the vendor.

What did you use to strip the plating, Tron?

The Force,   JK   I used a pretty expensive abrasive wheel..  they are about 100$ for a 6" wheel.  its a composite woven deal..   that and you need some polishing equipment to clean it up.  or super fine sandpaper..  whatever you got laying around..
