ORBITAL MACHINING OBI-WAN TPM LIGHTSABER #15WARNING: Some role playing may ensue! ;D
Well, what can one say about this saber that isn't already widely known by now? I'll go for it anyway. This saber is quite simply perfect; as perfect as you're ever going to see an Obi-Wan TPM in working form. And it has the latest version of the best sound board on the planet running it. A lethal combo, one that makes for truly one of the best and nicest custom sabers to ever be made in this hobby to date - and I'm honored to have gotten in on it. There was simply no way I could pass up getting in on such an undertaking of a run - and having the saber now has reaffirmed this for me 100 times over!!
The hilt of the saber is just STUNNING and is quite simply LE-like; it's a working LE, if you will. I literally have this hilt currently sitting with my MR Qui-Gon LE and Full Maul SE, in my trio TPM display case - right where my Obi-Wan TPM EE use to sit! I've owned pretty much every single version of this saber that has been made to date: The TPM EE and AOTC LE by MR, two Negotiators (which are of course stunning themselves), a few Parks versions (both the rarer 1" blade ones and the Parks Phase with the 3/4" blade), the JQ Obi TPM hilt and the Hasbro FX. Wat's version is simply in a league of its own - combining all the great things of the past versions to form the be-all-end-all of Obi-Wan TPMs!
Quick rundown of why this saber owns!
- Thin, 100% accurate hilt body?
Check- Deep, accurate grooves in the grip?
Check- Power and Aux switches perfectly blended in with the existing hilt details to maintain prop accuracy?
Check- Hidden sound vents (if you're using the pommel w/o the holes) for more accuracy and realism (while still being loud)?
Check- Perfectly placed kill key (and SD card access) inside the saber to maintain the look of the prop?
Check- Super bright blade with FoC? -
Check - Awesome, top-of-the-line sound board?
Check- Custom emitter plug for displaying the hilt just like an LE?
CheckThe absolutely amazing, top notch job by Wat on these hilts was equally matched by the outstanding job by all the installers, who literally brought this masterpiece by Wat to life- so I'd like to thank my installer VERY much for the truly magnificent work done on my saber. I couldn't ask for a better install. ;)
I'd also like to give HUGE props to Wat on everything else, all the little things that make up a transaction. You're a true a professional. Not bad for a robot. ;D And I'd like to also mention that I just LOVED the way Wat packaged all this for us; the case this saber came in is just sweet and was a very nice surprise. The blade (I purchased a spare as well) is actually a work of art itself - they came out just great! And thank you for the second pommel cap with the sound vents, a very nice gesture and a REALLY cool addition to the whole package. I've used both caps and each is awesome in its own way!
Enjoy the pics (there are many). 8)
