It would be good if we could just slide in or take out an insert to hide or show the light in the bezels

doubt there is much room for that, even if its very thin. just pick which one you want first, and painting/scratching away the paint can be done if u change your mind.

what if just the botom of the blade is painted will that hide the shine through?

i have asked wat for an extra blade so 1 with shine through and 1 without would be perfect

wat is that doable?

You do not need 2 blades for this.
Instead of painting a ring around the blade at the bezel level to block the light, simply paint 3 slots.
Turn the blade a bit in the blade holder, and the light is either blocked or visible.

But isn't the blade attached to the emitter ring?  Or is there a way to remove it from the emitter ring?  Because otherwise, the threads only line up one way.

Go look at the cutaway render in the first post of this thread.  You can see where the LED bezels line up with the optic holder and optic.  The blade does not go deep enought to reach the bezels.
