Orbital Machining is proud to announce an exclusive, limited edition run of 100% screen accurate, fully functional Obi-Wan Kenobi lightsabers from Episode I:  The Phantom Menace.

These will be for the discerning collector.  Someone who has waited for the perfect, fully functional yet completely screen accurate Obi Wan TPM lightsaber.  Expected completion of the run is expected prior to the re-release of Star Wars Episode I:  The Phantom Menace.  The numbers of this Unicorn saber will be limited to 36 pieces worldwide with only 30 being available for sale to the public.  They will be shipped fully assembled, ignited by the best electronics in the Lightsaber industry:  Plecter Labs very own Crystal Focus Version 5.  Illumination will be provided by a LEDengin 10W blue with FoC and power will come from a pair of 17500 Li-ion cells for a long runtime.  This limited package will include a numbered Obi Wan lightsaber, specially made 7/8" bullet tipped blade, removeable 'hero' blade plug, custom acrylic stand, and external smart charger.  Installation of electronics will be handled by the best sabersmiths in the industry including, but not limited to LDM Custom Sabers, Vader's Vault, Genesis Custom Sabers, and MH Custom Sabers.




The main design aesthetics will be based upon the Obital Machining Obi-Wan TPM stunt run crafted in '07.  Several internal and structural changes were made to make room for functional electronics without sacrificing external aesthetic accuracy.  The functional switches on this saber will be the main red button, and the purple hemi as the aux switch.  The purple hemi will be available as a lighted option.  The other option available will be the emitter crown bezels in either a lighted shine through or opaque non-lighted configuration.  No other options or blinkies will be added to this hilt.  Recharge port and MicroSD card access will be easily reached by unscrewing the pommel.  To eliminate the need for an external blade retention screw, the blade will be made with a threaded lug on the bottom to screw into the emitter itself.

Q.  What type of soundboard/driver are you using?
A.  Plecter Labs Crystal Focus V5.

Q.  What type of LED are you using?
A.  LEDengin 10W Blue set up for FoC.

Q.  What type of batteries are you using?
A.  Two Li-ion 17500.

Q.  Can I pick who does my install?
A.  I am sorry, but no you can not.  As each installer is getting a set number of sabers to install, I cannot guarantee equal distribution to my installers if I offer that choice to you.

Q.  Can I pick what number saber I get.
A.  No.

Q.  What kind of paint will the black parts be?
A.  Black anodizing.

Q.  How soon do I need to pay my deposit?
A.  Your deposit is due to guarantee your spot.  Only those who have paid their deposit will be listed in the 'Official Order List'.  

Q.  Can I have a crystal chamber in my saber?
A.  No.  This saber was designed with accuracy and function in mind.  As such, internal space is at a premium.  I did not design this saber to have any sort of exposeable chamber.

Q.  Can I buy an empty hilt?
A.  No.

Q.  Can I get a 1" blade.
A.  No.  Several reasons.  Primarily, accuracy was of upmost importance to me on this saber and it would change the groove section too much to make a 1" blade fit.

Q.  Can I have someone else not on your installer list do my install?
A.  No.

Q.  Will you take trades for payment?
A.  Yes, as long as you want to trade US dollars for your saber.  I do not accept goats, chickens, cows or other sabers as means of payment.

Q.  How soon will be these finished.
A.  Hard to say.  I am planning on 3-4 months for machining.  The aquisition of the soundboards is the unkown I can't plan for at the present time.

Q.  Rumble Motor?
A.  No.  It was not in thr original design because there just isn't enough room to fit it in properly.

Q.  What number saber will I get?
A.  I don't know.  I have not decided how numbers will be allocated yet.

Q.  Are you going to do a Qui-Gonn next?
A.  I have no idea.  

Q.  Can you put a crystal chamber in this saber?
A.  No.  And the next person that asks will not get a saber.  I thought I made it clear with my description and cut away pictures.  Where would you put it given the construction and utter lack of space inside the hilt?  Besides, I don't ever remember Obi Wan opening his saber to show us his crystal chamber.
