Luke's custom by Acerocket
« on: July 13, 2008, 01:04:32 PM »
Here's my custom machined by Acerocket.  He threaded the one piece main body to accept the TCSS pommel and emitter like I requested and also machined the main body.  Also you can see the one piece machined chassis that has built in holders for the various components.  A full review will be coming when I finish the assembly.

Thanks again Ace it is an awesome job.

That is going to be sweet.....please take photographs as you go...very interested in seeing the sled wired up with all the guts...it's the first time I've seen something like this created for inside the hilt...the neat and tidy aspects of it appeal to me greatly...... ;D

It will all be recorded for the review.  I have a few more things to work out but should be done when I get home from work this week.

Another great build by Ace.  Will you be putting a sound board in this?

I believe a CF V3 is going into this bad boy.

So...this is the saber that mine inspired, simple, but very elegant and Jedi-like at the same time. Awesome. 8)  So is this going to have a Luxeon V green in it?

2010...I certainly hope it's better than 2009 was! ::)
10/10/10~Well, so far with my Father's passing away, I'd say that this year was actually worse than 2009, even the fact that I now have a full time job (For now) isn't anywhere near enough to make up for that...so...maybe 2011 will be better? I'm not holding my breath... ::)

Yup  CF 3.0

Lith ion 7.2v 2400mAh pack

overdriven lux V green should get 2 hours + runtime

I have some more work on the hilt as it will not appear as "simple" as it is now.  There is actually a lot of machining detail in the hilt.

The sled is way cooler than in the 3d cad pics.  You'll get a peek in a few days.  ;)

EDIT

The grips (Mara JAde inspired) feel absolutely perfect while spinning.  Very smooth to the touch but nice detail to separate them.

Thanks Ben.  It is proving to be more difficult than I imagined.  I am having lots of space issues with the sled.  Ace did a great job with the specs but I had him make the tolerances too tight.  I now need to rework my wiring to get it all to fit.  I also need to router some channels for them to run along the outside of the chassis.  IT is coming together but it will still be a few more weeks before it is up and running.  I am still working on the CF switch gremlin.  I can't figure out why the switch is acting like a latching on setting 2 for momentary.

D@mn Luke! That is a nice design! I take it your using the stick Li-Ion pack? The side-by-side ones are 1.5" wide you know  :-\

Thanks guys for the compliments I only wish I had more to show you.  I haven't had the time and I am still working out the gremlins in the CF.  At least another week as I am about to go back to work tues.

IT looks a lot better than that pic though.  All I will say is lots of milling filled with black paint and a little bit of brass.  ;D

It is looking quite nice in the initial photo. 8)

Luke Did you ever get the issue figured out with the CF? or Have you contacted Erv about it yet?

I was just curious. ;)  I want to see that saber lit!
