are you guys ready for a vid ?
Please prefer DL it from my website. I have again a strange delay between picture and sound. It's weird, I suspect it's a problem between 25 fps versus 30 fps videos. Youtube is probably trying to convert the frame rate but fails.

https://www.plecterlabs.com/Media/CrystalFocusV2.wmv

copy the URL above and put it into windows Media Player (file -> open URL)

you tube :

I hope you'll understand my voice and accent. It's improvised, so don't expect hear me like in an academic talks or lecture  :D

Please let me know if on your side the sound and image is delayed on youtube or not

WOW!!!

Amazing, i love it.  Love the sounds and all.  It's a very very nice board.  I WANT ONE!

I just have something to say:  Between the ignition sound and the idle hum, it is kind of rough mix there.  But then again, if i change the sounds, it should solve that, shouldn't it?

Anyway CONGRATULATIONS, love the pitch shift, and the extra sound button, and all!!!!!

ERV i need one of those!!!  are they ready yet???

thankx for the video, and your english is very nice, i understood everything.  ... and i am from Mexico!  :D

Wow, nice saber driver!

It seemed to be fine on my end. I noticed just a hair of lag. But I only saw it cause you mentioned it.
Erv you english is really really good too.

R2-D2 : the rough mix you heard is not directly about sound samples playback but "hard" transition between 2 playback sampling rate (ie speed for playing the sound files). The pitchshifting was activated in this configuration AND I configured the activator switch so that I don't need to push the button when I power the saber => it automatically goes on after boot (only way to go when you're holding the camera on one hand, I had no tripod).
The problem here is that the orientation of the saber should be measured BEFORE starting the saber which is supposed to be OFF when you power it up. Here, the saber start at normal speed for playback just after power up, then just after the power up sound, it founds out a new orientation of the hilt/blade and lowers the pitch => hard transition.
I may have a trick to get over this, even if it's not a regular situation.

BtW, normally, this feature to get the orientation of the saber at startup to decide of the playback speed is GREAT ! Put the blade down and power the blade, playback speed is slowed down and blade ignition as well. Just like in the movies, as xwing said once : sometimes, the blade will lightup very slowly. Start the saber with the blade up : normal ignition speed and sound.

If you want to hear a normal power on sound to hum transition, watch the video at 3min10.

thanks for you nice feedback, and I'm glad people can understand my english (spoken) !

the answer is in the video, at the very end : "coming soon in may" !
(ok, I know, nobody is watching the end trailer of a movie, especially one like mine  ;D)

Absolutely amazing...

You've raised the bar yet again.  The epitome of saber sound technology.

A few of those sounds were somewhat...familiar ;)

I guess they sound familiar ! lol
Mr Judge is one of "our" enthusiastic buttered toast sound designer ! He took the effort to make a sound font and was kind to send me an archive of the original sounds... I've used for one of V2 sound font.
I'm not sure I'll have time to make 4 different one, but at least 2 for sure, plus two spare other with configuration variation (as well as different blinking LED patterns)
PCBs will be there on May 8th. I plan to open preorders as soon as I have gathered all the parts to assemble them !

I listened/watched the Video Erv.

I think people will like some of those options and the bar graph is cool.
The board is also a nice compact size which is appealing for installations ;D

Could the bargraph be replaced with just a single LED that would perhaps
just monitor ( be insync with the Luxeon ) if some one didn't want the bargraph
but still wanted an indicator LED?

I'm just thinking of space in some hilts where the bargraph might not fit, but
a user may still want an indicator sticking out that is visible as a decoration.
Much like the red and green LEDs on the side of an AOTC anakin?

I could see where having one of those light up and go with the Luxeon would
appeal to people as an option to the bargraph 8)

As usual a good and accurate question by Master Yoda, the wise of the wise (no, I'm not lickin' your left pump)

answer is YES x (Everything)  ;D For sure, each LED wired on the bargraph in the video can be replaced by individual LEDs. The bargraph I've used is just 10 LEDs packaged in a single block, with individual terminals.
I'm glad you mention the red + green LED idea (anakin saber, but luke ROTJ as well), cause when I designed the LEDs sequencer, I thought, YEAH ! finally  those 2 blinking LEDs will be real ! (not just 2 fake lights made of tinted plastic).
Just like every bit of my designs (well I'm trying to), it's always a scalable solution. No need of blinking LEDs ? Just don't wire them. Want a single progressive ON LED for power on ? wire a single LED  :D
I mean, people are eating a buttered toast, right ? so they would like to choose in the Menu what to put on it ! (I've only suggested Nutella or Jam, but peanuts butter is of course possible)  ;D

Good news this is Erv, I already know how I'd be using it ;D

Like I said I will pick one up form you sometime in the next few months  :)
(probably during the summer after I get some more development and testing Funds built up :D)
And you'll be able to test the Mac compatibility at that time :D ;)

I plan to have a Graflex for each of the different systems available from the saber aftermarket
This way I'll be able to do side by side indepth reviews and comparisions...
( I hope to have that all done before Christmas time this year so people can see all the different
sound options they will now have, between Builders Like yourself, Ultra and Hyperdyne. )

Currently, I have MR sound set-ups in both ESB and ANH types as my "display sabers"

And then I have My Hyperdyne ESB.

Soon I'll have an ANH with the Ultrasound in it.
(most likely I'll do 2 of these as well, 1 Cyan and 1 Blue)

So I guess by the time I pick up your Plecter Labs board for my collection...
I'll need to do an Anakin ROTS styled Graflex for it  8)

In fact... I think I'll even get it chromed to look more like an Anakin ROTS as well ;)

Then I'll just have to work on building my "Wall of Graflex's" :D

Keep up the good work

always

I'm pretty sure this wall will replace the famous "guitar wall" like the one I saw at the Hard Rock CafĂ© in NYC  ;D Should be renamed the Hard Hut Cantina, though  ;)
