K3GR1: Seteh
« on: November 07, 2009, 04:03:15 PM »
Seteh is an Egyptian God, who was originally the god of the desert, Storms, Darkness, and Chaos. His nickname is "The Red God". Seteh was the killer of Osiris in the "Myth of Osiris and Isis", having hacked Osiris' body into pieces and dispersed it so that he could not be resurrected.

I kept Seteh fairly simple. The hilt was anodized by Ace in a Deep Red and Black. I used a Seoul P5 RGB with the Red and Green hooked up to their own individual pots and mixed to a lemony shade of Yellow I call Ozryellow©. I installed the mini momentary switch in the control box. It uses a UltraSound 2.1. There is a blinky Red/Blue LED in the neck as well as the recharge port on the under side. I also installed some really comfy foam in the grooves on the grip handle.

Specs:
US 2.1
4 AAA x Tenergy 1000mAh NiMH Rechargeable battery
TCSS speaker
Seoul P5 RGB mixed to Ozryellow©
Recharge port in the neck
Foam Strips in Grip Grooves
1x RB blinky accent LED in the neck
Momentary switch in control box
UltraEdge Blade

Sorry the video is so dark:

I want to thank Ace for the incredible hilt, it is a honor to own such a fine saber.

I had wondered who got the red one from the family photo.  It turned out really nice... thankfully neither of those Josh character got it... they would have just beat it up and made it look dirty. ;)

It's a gem of a saber, homes.  Both the yellow and red really make for a slick and deadly look!  Well done Sir!  :)

This may be the sith-iest, meanest looking K3GR1 there is. I think just seeing it on the belt would be enough to deter any Jedi from making the "first move".

Awesome way of utilizing an RGB for yellow, ....u know I'm gonna steal that right?  ;D ;D ;D

Great job!

Agreed, the dark red hue really sets off the entire design. The yellow blade is a nice surprise, a break from the expected "sith red" blade. The only K3GR1 with that combination, so mucho kudos there my friend!

Thanks guys.

I got bored of seeing your typical Red blades in Sithy sabers, so I thought I'd try something a bit different, plus a Red blade in a Red saber is waaaay to much Red. It would of just looked silly.  :D

I've made a couple and seen alot of good looking Purples with RGBs but never seen a Yellow done without a filter. It was quite the experiment trying to find the right kind of pots to do the mixing. They either got too hot or were HUGE. Luckily All Electronics is close by and they have boxes of all kinds of stuff to dig through.  ;D

Gil, the foam makes it really comfy to hold, and it adds to some extra grip when holding it, plus it was easier to add than powdercoating in between the grooves  ;)

By mixing, did you lower the red a bit or the green?
I like to know if green would have been brighter, for my own saber project..
