Hi saberphiles, after years of trying to make a Sid hilt I finally cracked and set to on my MR Sidious .
Fortunately mine wasn't mint so I had no fear getting stuck in, they come apart quite easily and surprisingly there is room for a 2w mini speaker, Crystal Shard sound board, 18500 battery and an Ledengin 10w led.
Blade is 3/4, had to be this to keep the emitter profile.
Sound is released through a single hole cut into the pommel, not bad volume considering the limitations on space.
The pommel can be removed by two brass Allen bolts, behind this is the recharge socket.
To access the SD card the emitter flange un-screws and the whole choke/blade holder can be removed, behind this is the board.
It's a good solid build suitable for some light duelling.
Got a couple of bugs to sort out then it might go on sale :)
Working on this hilt made me think that I haven't done any small single hand sabers so I put together a cheeky hilt, nano sounds, Tri Reb and a 7/8 blade.
Makes a nice change to wield a small saber :))
