Neopixle and tri-cree adapter? Anything like this exist?
« on: August 18, 2018, 11:39:05 PM »
I was viewing neopixle connectors today, and the thought crossed my mind, what if there would be a connector that could be used for both pixle blades and in-hilt led, so you could switch out between the two? Anyone have an idea if that would be achievable? Thanks, I hope this topic hasn’t been covered before.

I've done it, you can see my original prototype here Wejack - A prototyping & development lightsaber

I made a much shorter, more refined version later, but I don't know that I ever posted it.

Teensysaber/Proffieboard supports it.
Probably best illustrated on the V1 page: Teensy Saber Electronics

So you can drive and conect either pixles or in-hilt leds with that?

Ill need to get some special conector for that, standard ones wont work, right? What I am trying to achive is a conector that will work with teensy, and with the following features:charging and programming through the hilt conector (like Jb's conector), and swappable between pixle plades and luxeon style leds.

I was thinking about this the other day.  Thought I might have a brilliant new idea for the industry lol.

Would be great to be able to swap in a hollow dueling blade that still gets nice and bright, so you can battle with your neopixel hilt but not worry about messing up a $100+ blade.

Yes, I did one, but it's still in testing phase:
