ArkLight Arsenal: "Practice", A Negotiator by Goodman
« on: February 16, 2010, 08:54:00 PM »
On its way to a friend, so I can finally post this in public.

Parks Negotiator hilt, Crystal Focus v4.3, LedEngin 10W BB+BB Clash, 2x14670 1100mah AW cells, partial G-Core, rumble motor, tailored wiring

"Practice" turned out to be an appropriate name after all...it took three attempts until I got the wiring situated. As construction had it, TEN of the wires were facing forward. Four for the LED, four for the switches, and two for the speaker all had to sit in the neck area, in a 3/16" gap between the speaker base and the heatsink. It would take forever to type out how I did it, so I'll use mostly pictures:

Teaser...

Wires, easy.

Overview of the assembled G-Core

Keep pushing....

Milled ports show the detail. Lots of viewing space. Two of those four holes are 4-40 set screws that anchor the G-Core securely.

Better view of the "power gates", made of copper/aluminum/brass, that lead from the crystal and through the forward bulkhead.

First video, showing the Core and details. Second video is better.

Second video, with a clearer view of how much blue light is saturated on the carpet during clash.  Feel free to comment.

I cannot add what everyone else has already said. It's definitely one of the neatest things to see and the details are like Yoda's. I have a Larbel Obi-wan and would be honored if you made the conversion. Then I would have 2 by ya. Qui-gon and his padawan.

 :o !!!AMAZING!!! :o
To DREAM the IMPOSSIBLE DREAM. To FIGHT the unbeatable foe. To BEAR with unbearable sorrow. To RUN where the brave dare not go. To RIGHT the unrightable wrong. To LOVE, PURE AND CHASTE, FROM AFAR [-sigh-]. To TRY, when your arms are too weary; to REACH the unreachable Star!... This is my Quest; To follow that Star, no matter how hopeless, no matter how far...

Awesome saber :o

I've never seen a Larbel Obi-Wan with the shallow grips like that, only older Parks EL versions.
I have two Larbel Obi-Wan sabers one is the regular version and one is a EL version but both have the deep cuts in the grips.
I do have a Parks EL version that looks just like that though that I want to get converted someday.

If it's the one I sent him it's a Parks.

You are correct that shallow grooves are the Parks.  Anything else = Larbel.  The confusion usually is that Parks did installs for Larbel.
