Differences in custom saber soundboard?
« on: January 20, 2020, 07:50:43 PM »

Am lookin at purchasing a custom Kylo Ren Crossguard saber off Etsy (installed into a Korbanth Hilt so not just a random seller) but just had a question about selecting the "devices" the two options are Prizm 5.1 and Nbv4 and as this is the first time buying a custom saber anywhere I'm not to well versed in all the different options so was just hoping to know the major pros and cons of the two different options?

This should help:

Plecter Labs Soundboards

Specs comparison chart from the manufacturer.
Better late than never.

Cheers Friend,
That's helped a bit but as I'm still a newbie when it comes to this what would you recommended?
Also assuming that the NBv4 is the Nano Biscotte v4?
Thanks for the help.

I think for the Prizm 5.1 you can activate the Kylo's crossguard quilons in a delay (like in the movie), and I don't think the Nano Biscotti has that. For a Kylo saber, I'd go with the Prizm 5.5 though if that is available, because it has the unstable effect you might want to see in a Kylo Ren saber.

Certainly more complicated a build, but not much, to go CFX over NB or Prism. The new firmware on the CFX also has awesome new features to support crossguard/quillions for neopixel.

Just reread your OP and you didn’t mention blade type as an option from the seller. If NEopixel is an option, def look into CFX. Lots of new features for neo and quillions.

Yeah am typing up a message to them now with questions about Blade types and different sound devices that have been listed above. Hopefully get a response soon.

Suggest poking around here to understand your options...if the seller can’t accommodate what you are looking for, look for someone who will. You are likely making a sizable investment, so better to wait a bit longer than compromise!  Either way, make sure the installer is legit!
