Question about blade thickness

I'm starting to get into more and more fast paced dueling and just came to you all for a question. Would a 7/8 thick walled blade be ok for the massive amounts of dueling or should I go 1 inch thick walled? Also don't want it to be whippy if that makes sense. Any help is appreciated :)

If your going all out, full contact, fast dueling, 1" thick walled is the blade type you want. 7/8" thick walled will be ok for light- medium contact, but more than that, it will likely bend, dent, etc.

A 7/8 inch blade will also be more whippy than a 1 inch. For what you're describing I agree a 1 inch blade would be much preferable.
