Title: Shotos

Anyone use a pair of Shotos for combat? I am becoming increasingly fascinated by Filipino stick fighting, and Chinese Broadsword techniques.

Two short blades like toufas? Are the Broadswords short also?

I think Caine or Novastar did some videos on this.

I don't think we've seen 2 Shotos.

Interesting I know the style your talking about Filipino Kali stick fighting. Nice to watch not receive ;)

I believe Caine has a good deal of experience in escrima, so he might be able to answer some questions on that.  I'm used to longer blades, so I don't typically utilize two short ones, but I can definitely see how it would be a neat way to duel.

Funny how this can up as I was finishing the blades for my Delta Voodoo and Delta Scepter, from the Concept Sabers Run.
I made 2 30" just for these to use as a set.

Here is a Chinese broadsword vid. This woman is Crazy nice. Blades are usually 25"-28" long

And here is a Kendo vs Escrima video. Escrima sticks are usually 29" long.

Fascinating, I always love fights between two different disciplines. I've had exactly 1 kendo lesson and know next to nothing about Escrima, but looks like the Kendo guy is getting his butt kicked.
