Yes Yes to train the Jedi we must :D

Thank you Kit for all the video work and editing to make posting effective and understandable 8)

This condensed tutorial on zone placement is just a taste of the many faces of creating stage combat and
swordfights.

I feel this will be the most effective way introduce and assist anyone wanting to get into Saber dueling and choreography.
Serving as a basic guide for groups world wide to get started in their own local areas and be able to get more involved
from there on out.

I went through these basic training essentials with Master Fisto Ram and Jen.
I feel confident they will be able to get their other members of LA Jedi in their area started off on the right foot and
then proceed to more involved routines using the zones and foot work as a basic guide for their steps.

In the future I also plan to arrange for them to meet with My teacher for some more formal training and to help advance
their skills further and further.( but I have to get graflexs done first :D )
For those who want to know more in-depth about Yoda's teacher they can also visit http://www.swordplaystudios.com/

All in all we had a great time and I think everyone learned something  and I hope this will benefit everyone who sees it 8)

Thank you Jay-Gon

As things progress there will be routines broken down into phrases and steps to help show people
how to apply and combine these basics into scenes that will look like duels you'd seen in movies etc...

A more in-depth training DVD will be coming eventually but it takes time ;)

I don't think it was negative as more simply someones opinion. ;)

And as you know the purpose is to show people the proper zones and locations as outlined by
Instruction from Swordplay Studios who complies with the ordinance set forth by such organizations
as The Academy of Theatrical Combat and The Society of American Fight Directors.
These Credits can be found here: http://www.swordplaystudios.com/film/credits.html

The Video we did is a very basic instruction to get new people acquainted with proper placement
to start with.

If they want to get more involved and make it look more realistic and get in-to character then I recommend
they go and purchase one of Swordplay.com Instruction DVDs or wait until ours comes out which will
go more in depth and get into spacial awareness etc...

So to each His own and so on and so forth :D

Some people just like to be negative.  I'm not sure how you could state that the 6 basic zones as not correct technique.  I've been to a panel with Nick Gillard at CIV and asked him personally about terminology and movement used for the films.  Although it will come to no surprised to Yoda, he said they use the 6 basic zones when communicating to the actors in SW (well 6 plus 1 for the back, so 7 really).   Anyway basics are completely overlooked by most groups and it's nice to see this kind of thing pointed out.  Just my two cents worth.

Thank You for that Arcana, 8) I will do what I must :D

Gilliard is part of those organizations I've mentioned and hence why I'm trying to get everyone on the same page.

Just as you and the Bariss got to experience with Ultra's group and LA Jedi at Com-Con ;D
I know when we were going over things you got the hang of things real well so I look forward to
seeing your progressions with your saber use.
Next time we are all at a show we'll do some more training/dueling and get into a few short routines etc..

In fact while we are on it and since you had mentioned Gilliard's notation of the behind the back 7
(7 Left side) (and 8 right side) ;)

I'll also point out that the Anakin behind the back is actually two hit's of 11 and 12 in a similar sequence.
These are parries first seen and used by Dooku against Yoda in Ep2 8)

I was going over this with the LA Jedi as well but it's not in the videos and requires a more slow point for
point parrie and appropriate attacks demo to show placement and timing etc...

Remind me and I'll show you next time I see you at a show  ;) you'll be able to pick it up no problem 8)

by the way did you get my PM about your Vos saber?
