Finally finished 3PO.
THE EXTERNALS:
This is a highly accurate resin cast which has been taken to an automotive body shop and sprayed with several coats of gold. Then it has been sealed and weathered.
The eye covers are from Pheonix Props and have also been painted using the same method.
THE INTERNALS:
Inside 3PO is a Nano Biscotte v1 from Plecter Labs. I have custom created a C3PO sound font using clear, crisp effects (no dodgy samples taken from the movies).
The board runs 6 yellow LEDs. They aren't super bright. I've seen other props where they just about blind you. I've dialed them back a notch.
VOCAL EFFECTS:
Boot - random jumbled jargon (made to mimic when Chewie picks up his head in ESB).
Startup - "At last... Where have you been?"
Loop (if untouched) - "I don't know what all this trouble is about, but I'm sure it's your fault.... You wouldn't want my life to get boring would you?... I'm going to regret this....
Then if you move him, or tap him, you get one of 16 random outbursts (8 swings, 8 clashes).
"Goodness gracious me". "How rude". "I've just about had enough of you". "Oooooooooh" etc.
It runs off a single 14500 3.4v lithium battery. There is a recharge port and it comes with a wall charger.
