Blade Holder/ Emitter ear loop
« on: January 22, 2008, 02:28:47 AM »
Any one know of a way to keep the bunny ears from flopping around? I have some black electrical tape wound really tight but this seems to be very unfeasable when mounting/dismounting the blade. No one can see this (unless I point it out) but I want to fix this correctly. Any Ideas?

Hi,

I had this problem.
If it's like mine, the rabbit ears are loose on the pin. The rabbit ears and the circle emmiter area will swing left and right.
If you jam something between the rabbit ears and the little raised arms that the post attaches too it will act like a wedge, and provide stability.

To fix this I inserted a straightened staple in there, and then uses a knife to wrap it around the post. It's super thin, and BARELY even noticable.
But it provides enough tension to keep the emitter in position.

Hope that helps.

Sounds like a good fix. I find this anoying sometimes as well. You go to show it to someone and the ears are all crooked! Oh, and welcome to the forums! :D

I just got my graflex replica....same thing...wiggly emitter ring and ears...so, this is normal with the graflex replicas? What about real graflexes?

Thanks!

My vintage graflex does not rattle of course the ears do move freely side to side and that is normal.  Once the blade is in though everything is nice and tight.  You may need some very thin washers to tighten up the rivet/screw if there is up down movement there.  Or a thicker bushing around it.

Emitter ear loop?  They are called bunny ears. Get your terms right and it would not have taken 10 months to get an answer
