I got the Korbanth MWIII in the mail the other day and in a couple of minutes I had it completely stripped and started figuring out how I was going to fit a sound board in it. I first did some measuring and figured I could get a Yoda in there pretty easily. Then I did a little more testing and found a way to put a PC in it. Then I figure what the heck. If I can put a PC in there I can put a CF in there.
I hacked away, ordered a tiny speaker, small batteries and a 10W RGBW LED.
Here is the result.
This is the board and batteries (AW IMR16340 550 mAh IMR LiMN batteries) with the wires run across it. Also the picture shows the size of the speaker compared to the standard TCSS speaker.
I made a heatsink out of a 3/4 copper slug and filed down a 10* lens so it would fit in the 3/4 opening.
The saber is not done...although its fully functioning and put back together it is not epoxied or glued down. I am taking it all apart and sending it to a plating company to plate the gold pieces in gold chrome and seeing if he can smooth out the part around the buttons and re-chrome it. The saber is fine for the price paid but I want to see if I can make it an elite saber.
Here are pics click for larger images (again its not finished and cleaned up, I didn't notice the wrap on the bottom was loose).
Now for the good part...the video.
I will update the thread after I get the parts back from the plating company and put it back together.
