sabers with lithium batteries
« on: October 29, 2007, 07:53:45 PM »
Ive noticed that my mace is brighter with engerizers lithium battires. whats the brighest alternative for a conversion? Will converting it to a led III, k2, or uv make it evenly lit and brighter? What about using a white led?

Bright as a stock MR may be on Lithiums, a Lux III conversion of the same color will always be brighter with the same batteries. And if you use Ultras blades, it will be just about as evenly lit. I have a Luke ROTJ stock MR and a Lux III Ultra stunt, and with fresh Lithiums in both the Lux III Stunt is always brighter.

And if you want to get a purple in your conversion, you'll have to get a white LED and use a purple filter. I wouldn't recommend, as brightness will suffer.

Hope this helped,

A lux V won't fry the MR board. If you try and give the board the 7.2V the 5 watter wants, then it will fry it.

The brightest conversion (though not really worth it to most) is to do a 5 watt relay and then use a 5 watter.

Otherwise, just go with a 3 watter.

If you want a purple saber I would go for a k2 or LuxV as they are brighter and your brightness therefore won't suffer as much. But yes the Lux 3 conversions will be brighter than a MR.

well with slight modifications you could run a lux V in a mace windu all you would have to do is use relay from the mr board and run it thrugh the power from the batteries to give the lux V the 7.2 it needs and not over run the MR board Basically the MR board would only provide the "ON" signal to trip the relay and send the 7.2v to the lux V the question is how long the AAA batteries will last....lol

Just FYI there is no purple led's. But using a Seoul P4 white, with a filter seems to be a good combo for a good looking purple.
