Ay-ay-ay! That's amazing! The whole thing, but the detail in the lit cockpit especially is mindblowing  :o :o I think I need to sit down... congratulations, Biggs! ;D

Quick little update:

I have an acrylic cover on order as of 10/26/2007. Took me awhile to find someone to make one local for a reasonable price.

Should be done in 1 - 2 weeks. Once I get the cover home I'll finally be able to unpack it properly, get some more pics, and do a little review!

Just saw this....
This is...... unbelievable! US$2200 down to US$350, can only applies to a lucky charm such as Heimidal...
Congratulations!  :D

It sure is a great collection indeed.  :o

Where in your home do you plan to display it?

Well...if it were just me then I'd put it in the living room or dining room...

 ;D

But....the wife's not going to go for that so it's going to go in our guest bedroom.

I'm still trying to find a table to put it on though. I might get an Ikea LACK (in black) and put it on that but I'm not sure yet as I might want it displayed a little higher off the ground.

VERY big case. The Falcon's mirrored base is designed to have a cover on it as there is a 1/4" lip on the outside edges.

1/4" acrylic 5 piece construction with butt joints flame polished.

Dimensions:

25 3/4" width (i.d.) x 35 7/6" length (i.d.) x 15" height (o.d.)

I needed to find a local place mostly due to cost. If I made it myself materials would be about 120$ but I don't want to risk messing it up.

You can order covers at a variety of places online but the shipping is terrible because it is so big.

For example, I know of a great place that makes cases that would have made one for 185$ but then shipping is 120$ on top of that which would make it cost almost as much as I paid for the Falcon.

At least now I found a platics company to make one local that I can just pick up.

Hopefully it'll look nice.

Awwww.... not the guest bedroom.  :(
It's a beauty that deserves to be displayed in the most exposed area in your home.

Try to negotiate for the living room.  ;)
I succeeded in negotiating mine (my sSW collections I mean).  :)

C'mon, who knows you might get lucky. LOL  :D

Still no movement on the living room front but I think I have her convinced that it would work better in the master bedroom at least  :D

Little Update!

Got the case today!

I won't get a chance to re-unpack the Falcon until this weekend though   :(

I'm going to be eventually displaying this on an IKEA Lack Coffee Table (in black/brown) but it'll be awhile until I get one as the closest IKEA is 4 hours away and I just can't bring myself to pay more for shipping than the actual table costs.

In the meantime I am going to put a sheet over the inner shipping box and display the Falcon on that.
