I've had a look at things definitely look better. I'm struggling to find "lord blanko's tfa soundfont". Is it on there?
I realise it was a lot of work for you guys and you're always very busy so well done. I don't want to appear rude or ungrateful but I work in web testing so I wouldn't feel right if I didn't give some free advice on optimising the new site or improving the user experience. I hope my suggestions don't offend anybody and I recognise the hard work you've already done.
Suggestions
- Searching by author could do with coming back, and the "date submitted" could be shown on the font list as well. Arranging by "newest" is great but none of the fonts show the dates on them.
- The format of the search results appears in a 3x12 grid for displaying fonts. This results in a lot of empty space around the font thumbnails. It also leads to 26 pages of saber fonts which would take some time to navigate. It would be more efficient and user friendly if we had more fonts on a single page and less empty space.
- The grid format might not be the best way to display fonts as users generally just want to find it by author or name, or even by saber type (graflex, obi, custom, etc).
- A filter for "Movie" (Episode 1), "Hilt" (Graflex), or "Character" (Luke, Vader etc) would be great as it would allow users to easily see all fonts designed specifically for movie sabers. I realise this wouldn't matter for custom hilts or those who want unique sounds but it would greatly increase the usability in terms of finding specific fonts for specific establishes hilts from movies and such.
Once again I post this with no negative criticism, just offering some free tips from my professional perspective for the saber community. I can't do much else like making sabers so I hope this suggestions help in some way.
