My ESB Graflex with DIY Yoda Chassis and CFv6 + CEX
« on: December 24, 2012, 09:25:13 AM »
It has been a year since I have really gotten into this hobby and I’m proud that I was able to build such an iconic saber to this hobby! I’ve always been a Star Wars fan, so last year for Christmas my wife got me a Star Wars Science - Build Your Own Mini Lightsaber Kit (http://starwars.com/shop/toys/mini_lightsaber_tech_lab/) .. and that’s where my love for this hobby began! I would spend counts hours scouring the internet looking for a site to help me with my passion, that’s where I found FX-Sabers Forums.

So without further a due .. the glams

Vintage Graflex
TFX Studios ESB Conversion Kit
Yoda DIY Chassis
CFv6 + CEX
LEDEngin RGBW
2W Bass Speaker

Pictures:

Here is the CF and CEX wired up .. I almost forgot some of the LED connections on the CEX .. but caught it in time … BUT I did forget to bridge the accent LED pads on the CF before I mounted the board on the chassis :( .. that took some time to fix

Here is cramming the CF and CEX into the chassis .. tight fit! But it worked out … I did go back to tidy up the wiring a bit

Finished product in all its glory! :)

Some different blade colors to show off the CEX

Thanks for looking!!

Great job! Glad to see that you were able to clean up the wiring. Did you put a RICE port in the build somewhere?

Well done Young Jedi ;D

I didn't have a CEX to experiment with fitting to answer questions about installing them but
I'm glad to see you got everything to fit in there and are enjoying it 8)

I do have a CEX now so as I see more people using the CEX I'll work on making an additional
platform for it to mount to in the chassis
;)

Again congratulations on completing your build.

I'm glad you enjoyed making it, I did see the video and it was cool to see it with the color changing and that is the beauty of the kit
for those who have the skill to do so and want to build something different. 8)

I do realize you have it all together now but, here is a thought on something you could do to make the chamber match the blade.
You could use SMD and 3mm RGB LEDs under the crystal and above it and sync them up with the sound-font and matching blade color ;)

Again well done and I hope it serves you well :)
