Darth Plaugueis
« on: January 18, 2012, 04:51:22 PM »
Anyone else reading this?

hhhhhhhhh (long exhale) whats with this writer. somebody got a new thesaurus for their birthday. It's like every chance to Luceno gets to use a bigger word, he will. Very annoying and out of place a lot of the time.

I agree, I lost interest and plan on selling the book. Too long winded. The writer never gets to the point.

I listened to the audio book version, and while wordy I ended up really liking it.

The audiobook version let me just enjoy it for what it was. The reader was especially good, and fit the writing style.

definitely! I was super stoked when thinking about the implications with the goings on of the prequels.

Makes you half want to look for him in the background scenes. ^_^

I started reading it and I concur. My native tounge isn't English so it's pritty hard for me sometimes... I read the first 4 chapters and since then it's been sitting next to my bed for months now, gathering dust...

I loved it.
I say five out of five stars. I thought it best represented 'Star Wars'.

Loved learning about the different species and having non-human main characters.
Thought the overlapping with the movie was great, too.
Thought the action and pace was very 'down to the wire' and again, very OG Star Wars.

Bravo! I probably enjoyed 'Revan' a bit more even though I only give that book four out of five stars.
I think the content in Plaugueis surpasses the limited content in Revan.

I loved this book, and felt that it alone of the entire vast EU library belonged in Lucas's g-canon. Like Jamo, I was forced to watch Menace over (in 3-D) just to see if the elusive Hego might have made a slick cameo when Ani went to see the queen before going to the Jedi Temple (nope). It really showed how the Sith trained and indoctrinated eachother and served to fill in some of the gaps in Menace's story, and sort of clarified the ties between the Sith and the characters Qui-Gon, Dooku, an Syfo Dyas. A truly great read, 10 out 10 for literary excellence. I especially loved the part where a young Sidious stormed the senate to kill his would-be assassins and avenge his wounded master with his two sabers.

I just recently finished this book as well and I loved it!  The deep rooted treachery that went on for decades...the tie-in to TPM...

it had some interesting bit in it. I wouldn't read it over, but I must say that I am surprised at how long Sidious let Plagueis live.

I loved it.  Luceno and Jackson Miller are two of my favorite Star Wars authors.

My favorite books tend to be the ones that add back story to the expanded universe...
