Title: SorcerOS - for those who still know what D&D stays for
Post by: Obi_1 on January 07, 2020, 01:49:37 PM

Made for my son for whom I created this prop as a Christmas present, and dedicated to all of those 30+ girls and boys who played (A)D&D with paper and pencil and grew up reading and later watching Lord of the Rings.

I can safely say this prop which was the most fun building becase every inch of it is my design and my creation, down to sculpting the overlay which gives the Staff its wooden optics, the root entwined core and the tip made of 3D printed dragon's claw (this one proudly found elsewhere) set with a crystal. The runes and glyphs cut into the modelling clay were painted up to give them a more accented look and whilethe engraving does not revel the tubes (saber blades), they will be illuminated from inside one the powers of the Staff are evoked.

Since I made the video I added even more features and I plan to release it as a new piece in the Open Source FX systems so that people who enjoy to create can bring back those enchanted days
Or you can create one for your kid, she/he will love it!!!!

I like this.  I've had an inkling to make an FX wizard staff for a while, but only got so far as a light up nest, no sounds or other effects.  I think I will put it back on my to-do list.

Thanks for the inspiration, this was great and I bet your son loves it! :azn:
