NOOB needs help with first build!
« on: November 23, 2020, 08:43:42 PM »
Good evening,

This is my first build. I am using a Shtok PCB in V4 configuration for my Proffie v2.2 Neopixel saber. I chose this configuration because I wanted the accent LEDs, crystal chamber LED & PCB/blade to have their own unique characteristics. I wanted to find out if the wiring diagram looks right and/or if you have any suggestions as to how it can be made simpler. I'm using 24 AWG wire for the Neopixel strips, battery & recharge port & 30 AWG for everything else.

Also, how I can safely pre-wire and test the components before assembling everything in the hilt. I'm using a 18650 battery.

I look forward to your responses & I'm grateful for your help & this forum.

Hello Yellin,

I'm not a specialist of Proffie, but schematics seems ok.
Be careful that on Proffie 2.2 -> BATT- and GND are bridged by default which might prevent low power consumption in sleep mode when using neopixel config.

Not sure what to answer to this. Clean your desk to avoid shorts by a loose parts or tools, use long cables enough to match your final build and to avoid de-solder/re-solder when you can.
But pre-testing your built before mounting everything in your chassis is the way to go and further more, even during your building: Test, test and re-test, especially if you have metallic parts around.

Good luck
