CFX v10 Mk3 question
« on: March 27, 2023, 11:52:44 AM »
Hey Irv ,and others who can help me.
I'm going to replace an old GH board with a new CFX v10 Mk3 board and I have a question on wiring AV illuminated switches. The hilt I am going to put the CFX in already has two illuminated AV switches in it and both have the proper in-line resistors by the switches, so I know I do not need an 0603 soldered to the board on the footprints, but I know I need to solder a jumper on the footprints. And I will do that on the top, since #1 and #3 are easy to get to from the top and I would like more space between the wires and skip pad #2.
My question is: I it ok to use #1, skip #2 and use #3? Or, do they have to be used in numerical order where I solder the LED wires to? Also, do I need to solder a jumper wire on the bottom footprint as well?
Thank you!

Yes, it’s fine to do that.

I find your arguments vague and unconvincing.

Quiet! *Slap* And there’s a fresh one if you mouth off again.

yes just a piece of jumper or 0 ohm resistor and you can use any output you want. Keep in mind not all of them have PWM capabilities in the case you need pulsing or color mixing

Thanks Erv and K-2S0! From the online manual it says that accent pads for LED+ on 2,5 & 8 are the ones to use to get flicker or pulsing and the LED- goes to the ground pad near the 9 pad along with the switch wire unless I'm mistaken.
I need all the help I can get, so please bear with me. I have two other CFX boards in sabers, but none of the switches are illuminated.
