Destiny Saber by Saber Concepts (Rhyen Skytracker)
« on: October 26, 2009, 07:06:00 PM »
Here is another saber I made for Akaius.  It is called Destiny.  It has a Graflex look to it but is custom made.  (Except for the bunny ears, I took them from an Anakin saber.)  It has Mara Jade grips that are heavily weathered.  It has a Blue Lux V LED powered by a US 2.5 and a custom 7.2V NiMH battery pack I made.  Here is the video and pics.  I will post pics of the battery pack / chassis later.

Master Skytracker,

That looks phenomenal!  You have done a fantastic job on this saber. Not only did you nail the original design but you made it even better, I can't wait to see it in person!   ;D ;D ;D ;D

You are one of the best Sabersmiths in the business today and your attention to detail and dedication to 110% customer satisfaction is astounding!

Guys I can't recommend Rhyen Skytracker of Saber Concepts enough! He is A+

Thanks again my friend on an outstanding job. Now excuse me while I go drool over those pics! LOL.

P.S- I plan on doing a thorough review of this beaut when I get her. ;)

A very nice, interesting take on the Graflex theme, I like it! You usually dont see this theme customized alot, really well done! I love the Mara Jade type grips and extended choke.

Really liking the grips at the bottom as well as the windowed hilt at the top.  It looks like its happy to see me when it originally powered on.  Very nice design.

Time will bring the real end of our trial.  One day they'll be no remnants

Update:

I've been meaning to get around to doing a proper review of this saber so here we go.

Wade aka Rhyen Skytracker of Saber Concepts did a awesome job making this.

the hilt is completely custom machined out of aluminum and polished to shine and is sporting:

• An illuminated blue ring momentary AV switch mounted on a aluminum bezel
• 6 powdercoated flat black Mara Jade grips with an extra ring of screws to keep the grips flush (makes for an amazing grip)
• Anakin style Bunny Ears
• Customized Graflex button blade retention screw
• Aluminum CT wheel

It's now running:

• Ultrasound 2.5 soundcard
• An amazingly bright Blue Cree LED
• Custom built in hilt recharge battery pack with a recharge port in the pommel

The saber looks and feels amazing, it's thin choke and custom grips allows for an amazingly comfortable grip for spinning. It's definitely the prize of my saber collection.

Once again Wade, is a true gentleman to work with, his dedication to customer service and skill at creating these pieces of art are second to none. I'll be going back to Saber Concepts for my next custom lightsaber. Now enough narrative, onto the pics.

Here was the design I sent him:

And as promised, here are some new glam shots of the saber.  ;)

Graflex type sabers are usually good looking but this one is particularly gorgeous...Kudos on a great saber to designer and smith.
To DREAM the IMPOSSIBLE DREAM. To FIGHT the unbeatable foe. To BEAR with unbearable sorrow. To RUN where the brave dare not go. To RIGHT the unrightable wrong. To LOVE, PURE AND CHASTE, FROM AFAR [-sigh-]. To TRY, when your arms are too weary; to REACH the unreachable Star!... This is my Quest; To follow that Star, no matter how hopeless, no matter how far...
