Review of Nocturne Armory "Nautilus" Steampunk lightsaber

Well, here is my first review of the Steampunk lightsaber, the "Nautilus", made by Nocturne Armory.

It is a video.  Hopefully I did this post correctly.

Just an after note, I'm sending this saber to MH later to rewire and do some work on - I wanted to have easy access to the PC SD card, but when contacting Nocturne Armory, they told me that to access the card I would need to cut the wires to the PC.  It would also void my warranty doing so... So I decided to have the saber's internals reworked to allow access to the card.

Just an update on this lightsaber...

I've had it now for a few days, and powered it up a few times, swung it a few times, never dueled with it, but did hit the blade against a soft chair to test the clash.

Since, the speaker has been having a "static" noise to it, and then cut out completely.  No sounds.  The lights still work.  So I am guessing that there is some short or loose wire somewhere.  Rather than deal with it, and since I am having it redone by a professional Guild member, I'll not be sending it back for its warranty work.

In review of the Nocturne Armory "Nautilus" lightsaber, I do think the external hilt work is excellent.  A one of a kind masterpiece that I will keep as a center of my collection.  The internal electronics, however, are questionable...  and will need to be reworked.

I don't know anything about Nocturne Armory but if they're using a speaker from a well known vendor (not naming names) it might just be the speaker. I know a lot of people that have had problems with them recently. In fact, I ordered speakers from DigiKey to see if I have any more luck with a different brand.

Ahh... good to know. I'll be sending it on for a re-wiring anyway, so I'm confident that it will be fixed.

Would I buy another Nocturne Armory Lightsaber?  Yes, absolutely.
