Double Maul- wow! What a BEAST! :-) A most lovely beast!
« on: July 31, 2007, 09:42:21 PM »

At last we can have our revenge!

xxx cool it is! Add pictures tomorrow I will.

Today I made a run to Fry's electronics and picked up the other half of a Maul. I thought I knew what to expect-after all I had a half Maul-so it would just be two together. WRONG! The sum is more than the parts!  ;D
Having read the experiences of others- I broke tradition and read the instructions. Glad I did. Putting it together was the work of a few minutes. Anticipation. Ignition-then again Ignition. WOW! The sleek silvery weight of the beautifully designed hilts joined as one. The Sound. Double GROWL blending together- most ominous! Then the first spin (slow mo!) a hint of audible doppler effect as the blade spins.

  A piece of art-and a real workout at that! WOW. Just WOW!  ;D :D ;) :) :o

I love the enthusism in your post. Darth Maul's blade always seemed like it would need both half for it to reach its full beauty. Glad you really enjoy your newly completed saber. ;D

Thanks Rogue Jedi! I am enthused!

It now competes with my Darth Vader ANH Ultra Red Lux III conversion for my favorite saber. If it had dual Lux III's it would win hands down!

Congrats on getting the other half of the saber.  I love the full Maul, it's probably my second favorite saber (after Obi-Wan's).  I can't play with it in full staff mode here in the apartment because I don't have very tall roofs.  However, when we move on August 18th I'll be able to play with it at our new place because we'll actually have our own private patios that I can go out to and mess around with it.

Hey Greedo,

Thanks! I have to be careful as I too am in an apartment- I already whacked my upstairs neighbors floor a few times. :-)
You'll have fun on your patio I'm certain.  Fun and good exercise!

Glad your enjoying the full might of the double Maul Darthmischief!

When my brother got his we were awestruck, and that thing really is so much fun to spin around, but a bi*ch to duel against haha! Im learning though (the hard way ;) )

Whatever you do...don't knock any vintage Rainbow Brite cookie jars off of shelves. ::) Those things are kind of hard to find these days... Trust me on this.

BTW- If anyone sees a rainbow brite cookie jar on ebay, or anywhere for that matter...Let me know ;)
My wife is still mad about that one. :-[

LOL! Luckily, I have no Rainbow Brite Cookie jars. SO far it's just the ceiling that's felt my wrath. What limited moves I've made with the "twins" have all been viewed in the mirror-which helps. Also-they are in slo-mo so I'm able to use my force perceptions to guide the blades away from danger.....

BTW: did you check ebay for the cookie jars?

Aack! Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work I go......

                Later.....

I can't say how many times I have said that the Full Maul is just the greatest saber to use.  It is literally endless fun when you start spinning it around.

It is STILL my favorite saber to use when practicing.

I second everything everybody said. the full maul is just plain and simple awsome. I loved my first one, I had to get another, yes 2 full mauls. the first I converted to red luxIII and the 2nd I used royal blue luxIII's. man that saver is killer.
