Alrighty, so after the huge announcement of Phase Three of my project being the CF6 and full electronics install we are back with...
Phase FOUR
...of the five phase project! We are amidst the excitement of the second round announcement run of the Orbital Machining Stormtrooper sabers, so I thought I'd keep us in the spirit of things and post at this time. I've already said so many positive things about this saber and the run itself, it goes to show just how much I love this hilt as I'm on the list for a Shadow Trooper version too 8) I'm very excited indeed to get a partner for my CF6 OM Stormtrooper, and thanks to JANGO, GG, MH and Wat, there will be more of these beauties out in saber collectors hands.
For phase four of things, I have something very artistic and special to show you all. A lot of effort has gone into creating this piece, and a lot of my (many!) requests were fulfilled and I couldn't be happier with the result :) I wanted something to display next to this saber along with it's stand to add something extra to the piece. I really think that it gives even more of a wow factor to the whole setup, and I'm proud to have this amongst my collection.
I sought out the artistry of the community's local artist for the work. As a protection to the artist and to the site, this artist will not be named. If people want to
speculate, that is fine, but both the artist and myself will not be naming names ;)
So here we go! It was actually a lot harder to photograph this artwork, as the glare hit the camera no matter what I tried :( So unfortunately, it's a little harder to make out than I had hoped, but you can still see it quite nicely. I also took a few close ups to show some detail. (Click links for larger pics)
The artwork is framed with a black border, and the first thing that probably catches your eye is the two Stormtrooper hilts either side of the picture. Here is a close up version of the artwork:
The pictures of the hilt on the artwork were actually taken by the artist himself, and are of my actual hilt :) more close ups:
The picture with the Stormtroopers in the Death Star was ACTUALLY taken with the help of the artist's friend from the 501st to reflect the original concept art 8) The shield featured is the same one supplied with the concept art Stormtrooper action figure.
