I found this topic...  I guess I am bumping it.  But I guess I am repeating what may very well be repeated else where, but what the xxx.
There are 3 primary Japanese sword arts.

Iado:  The art of drawing the sword (i.e. killing your opponent in 1 or 2 quick strikes is often taught).
Kenjustsu:  The "art" of of the sword (in reference to actual warfare, no "playing fair" so to say)
Kendo:  The "way" of the sword.  We see this most commonly in the films (especially EP 4-6)

I am NO EXPERT, but have studied Kenjutsu and can post a few things of my experiences if people like.
