The maximum size is actually now about 100 x 100 pixels.  It seems that topic is a bit out of date.

That's really weird

A few weeks ago I tried it when I made my avatar and I had to scale it down to 80x80. I'm ok with this size, but if people think it's 100x100 px and it doesn't work, it could lead to some problems/incomprehension

While reading another post about avatar sizes, Master Durangus pointed your reply here.
So I decided to check this again only a couple minutes ago with the original 100x100 px avatar I made and it was refused ("picture too big").
Also made another one to check and it was refused as well

I even did several tests moments ago, and even with 90x90 px, it doesn't work, I have this message :
"The following errors occurred when trying to save your profile:
    * The avatar you have selected is too large, or not an avatar."

So it looks like the max possible personal avatar size is still 80x80 (with the exception of already existing 100x100 px ones in the forum database)

Since 2006, the Administration has allowed Avatars for General Membership to be 80 x 80. HOWEVER, some of the Site's own Avatars are beyond this size. They are from the Site and are allowed. Anymore confusion, please feel free to PM me. Thank you.

Master Qui-Gon and Chewie, that thread has been updated and the proper specs on it.

You're welcome. It's been going up and down. Some Members use the Site's Avatars, in which it exceeds the regulated size, but it is the Site's. The Site's Parameters are set to allow 80x80. In the past we have had some Sigs half the size of the Avatar column! No joke. It slowed the pages down so much.

Sorry about the confusion.  :-[ ;D

Hey Folks, in the last day or so, I've been made aware of Members not being able to sign in, post or just in general very long load times and the infamous "Cannot load page". I have set up a list page here:

http://www.fx-sabers.com/forum/index.php?topic=18817.0

I have already polled what is wrong with my attempts.

LAst hour.

1.  Pages not loading

2.  Broken links when I know it is a good link.  I was reading the Jedi council discussion thread and going page by page.  I know the next page     was there but I got a few missing links before I finally could view the page.

3.  Slow page loads.

I have always chalked up when the board starts having problems it was just maintenance time again.  Generally when problems like these occurs there is maintenance going on.  I of course, could be wrong?

That could be it. I looked into it today. We'll see if that was the main issue. I believe we had this every year at this time, eh?
