That is a fantastic piece of work, Master Yoda.
You excel yourself yet again.

I have heard that the socket depth on the original blade holder is not sufficient to make a sturdy lux duelling saber.
Have you managed to overcome this or is this saber not suitable for duelling?

One more question: When and where can I get one?  ;)

The socket depth on this is the same as the Mace Windu conversions ;)

It's only a matter of time before Ultra and or TCSS make an adapter now since I've
shown the basics needed for it and the possible depth set-up as well as the emitter not
becoming to long.

The only real issue is the clash sensor is placed in a position that it gets destroyed from either
side, no matter how you try to enter it.

The front pin is butted against the Blade and pushing the pin in far enough to get it out will crush
the sensor.
getting to it from the back means "carefully" drilling through it. (like I did :D)
then punching the pin out from inside.

If you were to try and use a screw extracting method and drill it out but it will require "experimentation"

But you'll have to have a padded drill press jig to hold it in other wise you could ruin the finish on the front
and saber body.

then it would be possible to get the clash out intact... ;)

Or just find a new clash sensor supplier ;D

Not to mention all the holes are not exactly "lined" up on this and each will require specifc measurements
to get a solid adapter made, but it can be done and will work.

It is more involved than some of the other conversions but if done like I've shown with the screws holding
everything back in place it actually becomes a very serviceable and easy to deal with saber.

But it's getting it to that point accurately and being able to repeat it.

I'm sure I'll talk with the conversion boys and get this on their list of things to to :D

Thanks for the info, Master Yoda.

I haven't got a Yoda FX yet (and I stress yet) but when I do get one, no doubt I will want to convert it like I have with all my other sabers.

I'm sure after Ultra sees the conversion and goes over it with TCSS they will work it out and
as usual Ultra would make them available as pre-converted, ready to buy ;)

HOWEVER this is not currently in the mix of things and is only being suggested as a possible way
to over come the size issue...

Like Yoda says...

size matters not :D

(well okay it does but there is usually a way around it)

I bet it was a devil of a job to get everything to fit.

Shame about the clash sensor. Fortunately, I have a spare one from an Anakin ROTS lying around somewhere, so I may be able to just knock out the pin, wreck the original sensor, and replace it with the one from the Ani. Think that should work. A clash sensor is a clash sensor, right?

I realise that this is not on the cards for a while, but it is fun to get all over-excited about things, isn't it?  ;)

That is a really nice piece of custom work on the blade holder, BTW.
Did you machine that yourself or farm it out? If you got it made by someone else it must have cost a small fortune. I am an ex-machinist and know how much most places charge for one-off components.

I used the clash sensor for an old hilt I decide to retire :D so your right any MR sensor will work ;)

The Blade holder is from TCSS and is cut down about 1/2 inch and the I did the mill cut down the back over
at Sidious house.

It's not hard if you've done this stuff before but as all things metal it a one time cut and drill application
ya can't make any real mistakes and simply allot for fitting tolerances etc...

Nice job there!
Which TCSS blade holder did you modify?

My engineering instructor always said, 'measure twice, cut once.'  ;)

Is that a cyan luxeon or is the camera distorting the green?

Yoda said it was a Green Luxeon III, so it's the camera. I thought the same as you till I read where Yoda said it was a Green Luxeon III LED.  :P

2010...I certainly hope it's better than 2009 was! ::)
10/10/10~Well, so far with my Father's passing away, I'd say that this year was actually worse than 2009, even the fact that I now have a full time job (For now) isn't anywhere near enough to make up for that...so...maybe 2011 will be better? I'm not holding my breath... ::)
