Title: DaJoQuims Yoda AOTC Fx-Review
Post by: BEN KENOBI on April 11, 2007, 06:12:52 PM
 8)Hey guys!!
Well I got my yoda fx-aotc lightsaber yesterday and I must say It blew me away!!Yes I could not believe that a smaller saber could pack such a punch!!Anyway here it goes!!
(https://www.fx-sabers.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi117.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fo41%2FDaJoQuim%2FDSCF0839.jpg&hash=d76d9228f56c9b0a46ea5a41e9e07d74ab3234c3)
First of all I really like the top of the hilt because I think this is close to scale to me!!
(https://www.fx-sabers.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi117.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fo41%2FDaJoQuim%2FDSCF0840.jpg&hash=1b14b01a127257a15e7f0ada9c8d8e456f29c370)
second of all I really like the on/off switch on this saber!!I find that it is kind of hard to turn off unless you want it off!!
(https://www.fx-sabers.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi117.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fo41%2FDaJoQuim%2FDSCF0841.jpg&hash=a454fa20428931a758f73a206622337439ba73d4)
Third I like the way this saber lights up even when the lights are on!!
(https://www.fx-sabers.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi117.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fo41%2FDaJoQuim%2FDSCF0843.jpg&hash=86f37ccb147fea58304ccb7be4e358e7a157449b)
But when the lights are dim oh man it's brite!!
(https://www.fx-sabers.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi117.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fo41%2FDaJoQuim%2FDSCF0850.jpg&hash=08c538e5d17ae0d0ad6b94203ecb8b02da7f40a7)
Don't let this little saber fool you!!It rocks with the loud sound lol!!
(https://www.fx-sabers.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi117.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fo41%2FDaJoQuim%2FDSCF0845.jpg&hash=ffe8b03095f2d00f0e46d537fcfd57376e4ef313)
The word on this saber is buy it!!It's worth it!!I really love this little saber lol!!This saber will be in my collection for a long time to come!!I know now by the feeling of the power in this saber that yoda indeed was small but powerful!!May the force be with you all my friends!! ;)

Great review! After I get my ANH set then I will be picking up the Yoda for sure. I would love to see the Yoda next to a standard Luke ROTJ.

I belive he is Agen.  And if so, I have heard that the Yoda blade outshines the Luke by far.

well does the yoda lightsaber have the same amount of Led's as a standard sized lightsaber? if so....the shorter blade would be brighter.....

Great review Master Dajoquim!

I'm now sold on a Yoda! Must...Have...This...Saber!

How is the balance on the Yoda saber? Is it tip heavy or even? I'm actually thinking of TWO for Dual-wielding purposes ;D

Actually my young padawan, Dual wielding is meant for the attacking saber to be regular sized, and the off hand saber (blocking) to be smaller.  So HA! 8)

Actually, Young Acampa  ;D, dual wielding can be of very MANY styles, ONE of which is one saber being standard length, the other being a shorter length.

There have been jedi of the past to dual wield, one being a standard length saber, the other being a Light Whip, for example.

So in his reference to dual wielding, he is correct.  Dual wielding merely means the use of both hands on two different weapons.   :D

Now, come to the Dark Side young Acampa and see the TRUE power of the Force.   ;)

Here's an example of a Jedi in the upcoming Force Unleashed that dual wields Tonfa style sabers.

"I pledge my self to your teachings, My...Master"

I always thought the main use of Jar Kai was one regular sized saber and a smaller off hand saber.

Oh well.

If we are going to do SW quotes, then i might as well share this one.  Being a GIANT Anakin/Vader Fanatic (Which anakin was a Jarkai user)....I will share this quote by Vader to you all.  It is my favorite quote, and shows the True meaning to be a dark Lord.  As Vader Was defensless against the Jarkai form(He was battling maul and cut his saber into 2) , maul Cut into Vaders helmet Leaving him defenseless.  As mauls overconvidence ONCE AGAIN leads to his death, He asks Vader "What Could you hate enough to destroy me?" before delivering the final blow.  Vader then Stabs through his own body, and into mauls.  As maul is falling to the floor vader says "Myself"

HOW AWESOME IS THAT

(PS.  I bet you have heard of that before, Lord Vader.)

WOW i am soooo off topic

Actually, it's quite funny.  The other night at our d20 Gaming Session, I brought up that exact quote to a friend of mine as he was looking at my Vader shrine I began to rebuild starting a year ago.  :)

So certain are you?

What about Asajj Ventress? General Grevious? Anakin Skywalker?

The smaller length saber you're referring to is called a shoto.

The Yoda is an excellent saber.  I find that it is perfect for my 4 year old son.  It is actually HIS.  The color is just plain AMAZING.  I am even shocked that I can see it in plain sun light while outside.  Simple amazing.

When I use it, I don't really enjoy the grip, because I find that the little knobby between the emitter and the shroud sits wrong in my hand.  Maybe if I were to modify it slightly...who knows.  But I got it for Damien, not me.  LOL...

I DO look at the positives however and to what the Yoda will eventually lead to:

1)  Sidous style saber since we have smaller electronics
2)  Dooku saber, hopefully off of Master Yoda's designs, due in part to new electronics
3)  New adapter sizes being made by ULTRA, TCSS, and others so we may convert our sabers to 3/4" blades, giving a lighter and more realistic feel to the saber.

I especially will keep a watchful eye to adapt my Maul Staff Saber to two 3/4" blades.  How fast would I be able to whip that thing around then!

mwuahahaha!

It's is a great saber Dajoquim.

First of all the blade must have as many led lights as the other sabers because holy crap it's brite!!As for the weight it almost weighs nothing to me.It does not seem to have much in counter weight.as for the saber itself I was impressed!! ;) ;)

Umm...Acampa? Anakin and Vader were masters at Shien (form 5), not Jar'kai...just wanted to clarify that.

The Yoda looks awesome btw.

When I asked about dual wielding, I was actually thinking more along the lines of a Florentine style.  The Yoda saber seems a bit long for this though, but I'd be willing to compensate a little to accomodate this.

I already do use a shoto from time to time. It's actually just a 28" Polycarb dueling tube that I put in my Luke ROTJ Lux conversion in my off hand. It is a bit off balance, but since the Luke hilt is lighter than my other hilts, it's not too bad.

:( That clash sensor was in working order when I sent it...Sorry to hear that... Did it break durin shipping or something? Oh dear...

If there's anything I can do to fix the situation, PM me. We'll work something out.

It may be because it's out of a ESB Vader... The clash sensors in those can be a bit stiff. It was NEW, so that is a possibility.

Congrats on the Yoda Master Dajo! I went to Chiller Theater yesterday in hopes of finding a Yoda fx but the vendor was sold out. :( Which is just as well, because he was selling them for the same price as the Saber Vault and I'd rather give JD the business instead. :)
