Space can you share where you are buying some of your materials? Like your LEDs from what website? Your foam diffuser and the 8 pin DIN plugs? Even some guides on how you install your 8 pin DINs? I have searched and searched for these steps and I feel like everyone leaves it out (trade secret?)

The DIN plug link is right in the user manual for CF LS 6.5 on 'Erv's website Plecter Labs. Just look up the user manual and look at the PDF. There is a link there. If you live outside the UK, then try to find the same connector from someplace else or the shipping will be very high.

For the foam, the only place I know to get it is to cannibalize MR or Makoto foam.

As far as a guide on how to install, eventually I want to make video but right now I have no time. I try to take a bunch of pics to show progress but as far as actually when I'm putting it together requires both my hands. So I'll need for someone to be over my house while I'm making one willing to film me, or I need a mount for my phone to film me making it but it isn't a priority to do that right now. I'm still very much experimenting with many LEDs from different websites and different colors etc.

Check out Hotwingz00 posts in the Plecter Labs section of this forum which helped me tremendously he came up with some cool ways to mount the DIN plug and he tested many colors already and there are links in that thread for where to buy LEDs

So have you ordered any DINs in the United States yet? And ok sounds good I understand it can be a process that requires a lot more time. I guess when I get there I can post and see if anyone can help.

I have also looked through a lot of Hotwingz00 posts and it has given me a lot of great ideas, but just still unsure about a couple of things, Thanks for the info though.

CLASSIC RED STRING BLADE (no FOC) #1 (SB#11)

This is a new blade I constructed using 8mm Red LED's for the first time:

MHS Compatible 'Classic Red' Lightsaber Blade for Plecter Labs Crystal Focus LS

MHS Compatible Classic Red LIghtsaber String Blade for Plecter Labs Crystal

It is a solid-looking red but I thought it would be brighter. The 8mm whites are blinding... like Thundarr's Sun Sword, so I just thought the 8mm reds would blind me also. However, this is one of the cleanest constructed blades I've made so far.

Main blade
66 8mm Classic Red 2.1 v 100 ma 360 degree viewing angle
Seriallel Class III 9x9x12x12x12x12
FOC strip=none

Foam Diffuser
TCSS thin walled blade tube
TCSS blade diffuser
TCSS bullet tip

FARFALLA GOLD STRING BLADE with White FOC #1 (SB#12)

Gold blade one segment test:

Finished blade:

FOC:

Main blade
100 5mm Farfalla Gold 3v 50 ma 45 degree viewing angle
Seriallel Class II 8x8 8x8 8x8 8x8 8x8 10x10
FOC strip=72 Cool White 45 degree 3mm

Foam Diffuser
TCSS thin walled blade tube
TCSS blade diffuser
TCSS bullet tip

POWERFUL GREEN (no FOC) #1 and #2 (SB#13 & 14)

This is the 8mm strings under construction:

POWERFUL GREEN #1 (SB#13)

This is the first 8mm green blade I've constructed. The results are very impressive.

Main blade
74 8mm Powerful Green 3.4 v 100 ma 360 degree viewing angle
Seriallel Class II 5x5 6x6 6x6 6x6 7x7 7x7
FOC strip=none

Foam Diffuser
TCSS thin walled blade tube
TCSS blade diffuser
TCSS bullet tip

POWERFUL GREEN #2 (SB#14)

This is the second 8mm green blade I've constructed. The results are even better than the first one. Only real difference here is this one has a rounded tip instead of a bullet tip.
Check out some videos I took of this one:

COOL WHITE with GREEN FOC(SB#15)

This one is for a customer on Youtube. He has asked for a white main string in cool white with a green FOC string. Here is the white main string in progress:

Here are the segments in line, the customer wants a 37 inch blade:

And here it is shrink wrapped in plastic, segments 5 and 6 have a denser LED structure for an imitation flair effect toward the hilt side:

Update: 5/12/15- Blade is complete and wrapped together with the FOC green string:

Finished a new blade last night: Imperial White with Cool White FOC #2 (SB #17) with pictures and video. Its the last one listed in previous post.
This blade is for Revan Reborn on this forum (DJ) and it will go in his Sentinal Master Saber I made for him last year. We are going to convert to CF LS this weekend hopefully.

Updated post includes build shots of newly completed 'DOUBLE RED' lightsaber string blade which has 2 strings of 3mm Red LEDs wired in Seriallel Class III.
There are over 200 LEDs for the main blade alone. Bright!

that double red looks awesome, how good is the FOC in red? I do prefer same colour FOC with some sabers.
I don't know, i gotta bad feeling about this!

Thanks. This particular red doesn't have an FOC string inside because I could not fit any more strings besides the two main ones. However, you still get FOC type effects even without an extra string.

For a red with and FOC string, the Kylo Red (R) that I made looks good but the FOC, being another red string like the main blade, is not dramatic. You do see a flash of red but it isn't that dramatic.

For the string Kylo Red (W), that has a white string and it is pretty dramatic. I like playing with that one... it is very cool.

The first string I made by myself (SB #1) had a yellow FOC string. It wasn't very dramatic, but you could tell it was a yellow flash. I have since dissassembled that blade and part of it now lives inside 'Double Red' string blade (one of the two main red strings).
