SK3 VV problems , red blinks on CFX?
« on: January 09, 2021, 04:26:29 AM »
So just got my run 3 SK from VV, and after a day got issues. I realized whenever I put it with rice and remote it shuts off and has issues. I drained the battery, restarted, used the killswitch. All it shows is blinking light on the CFX board itself which can see in photo and blinking yellow indicator light representing charge, also photo'd.

I plug in USB for RICE, it says init SD Valid insert valid SD card and it is inserted. Even on reformatting. Any ideas? It's a $3K saber

it's not finding the SD card :
- issue on the 3.3V auxiliary rail (leads to not powering the SD card and the motion sensor)
- issue with the SD card socket

measure the auxiliary 3.3V (A3.3V on the voltage map of the manual) if you have access from the board

Thank you for your quick response Erv. Really appreciate it. Looked at the manunal. I have no experience as an installer, and unfortunately live in the Philippines. So, not sure regarding the voltage or how to do it without screwing things up further.

It won't be like getting a new SD card may fix it. The error is something with the CFX board directly?

This is honestly disappointing from such a high-priced saber, barely using it.

the error is detected by the CFX, but like I said, without pictures or measurements, I can hardly help. The voltage map is in the manual, if you disassemble it. However I understand you're not willing to do so. I suggest you see with VV for a servicing / RMA

Okay Erv, thank you for your replies. So just to confirm; "Init SD failed - Insert valid SD card" doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the SD card itself?

probably not if it reads correctly in the computer with a default package
