I finally found and purchased a 2005 Collector's Society kit with Maul mini!  The kicker? The membership card is autographed by Ray Park.  I can't wait for this to arrive!

yep.  got here a few days ago.  The autograph wasn't on a membership card, it was on an autograph card like you get at conventions. 2005 San Diego Comic Con, to be exact.

I think they should have offered the full Maul to the public and the battle damaged version to the CS. ;)

The sheer size of the full maul really made it something different.  This year's matte Mace is a little weird looking.

But the full Maul being such a big mini (  :D ) it really was special for the CS.  Although it was unfortunate since it is such a great mini to have, making it difficult for non CS members to get.

That matte finish Mace does look weird. I wonder why they offered that and not someting more interesting. And to think I was considering joining for a while there.  :D

Well the coupons alone made it worthwhile (already  :-[ ) for me to join, but I'm not exactly going to make the matte Mace a feature in my collection.

I think MR should have released a new mini for the CS this year, as they did with the Maul in 2005. Instead they went the 2004 route and made a "special edition" of an existing mini.  Imagine the memberships they'd have received if the Luke ANH or Qui-Gon were in the Collectors Society kit this year.

Notice it says "Ray Parks" at the bottom?  Guess MR can't always get everything 100% accurate  :)

very indeed! MR needs to take better care of precision, i know its all for fun, but sound on Fx's and names on cards....it all makes it even better!

Well.. let's just say it was cheaper than most of the Maul CS minis going on eBay, but still more than I should have paid.  ;)

I should have paid $59 and joined the Collectors Society if I knew I'd be collecting the minis.  But since I started collecting after that deal was up I ended up paying $69 for it.  Not a bad price until you add $14 shipping to that.  Even with that outrageous shipping charge, it still came out cheaper than most of the Maul minis that were on ebay at the time.

I got  the full Maul  about two months ago... and... I noticed that the three central rubber bands are getting porous (is "porous" the correct word? sorry, I'm a spanish speaker). I fear that these rubber bands could break off soon...  does anyone have the same problem with the full Maul? does the half-Maul have the same problem? ( I don't have the half-maul, but I think it has two rubber bands, right?)

What could I do? any idea?

My rubber rings are perfect ....  however I got the maul a couple of weeks ago ...
I dont know if it's skin oil or ... maybe you're polishing it with someting "aggressive" for rubber?

I think I'd read about this happening on the Maul LE elsewhere.  Others said rubber grips are not that rare of a part, might be something you could find in a hardware store, but I believe they did contact MR concerning it, perhaps that is an idea?

Well, I really don't play that much with it... it's just sitting on its stand... and I don't polish it... I only clean it from time to time with a dry soft cloth, like the ones used to clean lenses... but I never touched the o-rings...

Does someone know the name of this part ("rubber band No. ?" or "rubber band size ?")  or does someone have a link to a hardware store site who sells an adequate replacement? I wouldn't like to remove the o-rings right now and take them to the store... :P well, maybe I should take the mini with me  ;D
