Question about Maul
« on: July 11, 2007, 07:00:39 PM »
I recently bought a double maul off of ebay, and I noticed that the blades seemed very wobbly, whether it was single or double. So I was just curious if that was normal? And if not is there a way to fix that wothout converting it to a luxeon, because I don't plan on doing that for a long time.

Unfortunately the blades on all the Maul's are like that.

Is it still safe to do some practicing with and possiblly some light practice dueling?

Even though it's not recommended to duel with the FX sabers people still do it anyways (even I do! lol).  If you do decide to do some dueling with the stock MR sabers especially the Maul, do it lightly.  All though I will mention the Maul can take a bit more punishment than the rest of the FX sabers because of the thicker blades.

That is good because I try to only duel lightly for choreographing and practice.

Well folks-I got my Maul today and it is awesome! I don't find my blades wobbly ???
They are very sturdy inside the hilt but when its in double the whole thing vibrates.
I don't mind though. My friends are coming round tonight-So i'll have a review up in the next couple of days. They came round for a short while today and they love it! I highly recommend you dont duel against friends-(or enemies!) with a maul! The Maul is soooooo strong, it felt like it almost snapped my friends Yoda in half! LOL-Its awesome-Have fun!

Talk about a mismatch! You used the longest saber against the shortest saber? LOL! Glad you like your Maul. Now that I heard that Spencers has them for $99 I may pick one up myself next week. If it's still on sale of course.

If I was not Canadian, I would pick that up in a heart beat.

Bleh...everythings gotta be Americanized. 50 dollar shipping charges for us Canadians is way unfair. We are your neighbors!

LOL-Yeah! My other friend used my anakin because he has a Vader ESB and we didn't want 3 reds and 1 blue so he used mine instead. Heaps of people came out of their houses because i live in Australia and not many people around me know of them! LOL-Good times....Good times.... ;D

My double Maul has never had any wobble to it either. When I 1st got it, it seemed wobbly, but I just hadn't tighhtened it enough.

I think Grand Master Rar is referring to the  blade flex that the saber tends to have when coupled up. There is a minimal amount but nothing really detrimental.

Yes, I did mean the blade flex when coupled. I was unsure if this was normal or not. Thanks for all the info.
