Title: Issue with Saber I just completed
Post by: theta03 on June 05, 2019, 04:57:47 PM
I just finished wiring up a saber with the Trident Board and and 2 Tri-Cree LEDs as side blades. Every time I trigger the Auxiliary switch it kills power to the saber. I shot a real quick video to show what is happening. I am using the Prizm 5.0

Saber Issue - YouTube (https://youtu.be/PNj4eYxoXW4)

I am wondering if anybody has any ideas as to what could be causing that.

You’re trying to essentially run 3 Tri-Crees off of one battery - is that what you’re saying?

Right

It was working fine for a while until I tried putting everything into the hilt.

What type of battery (specs) were you using?

I am using the 18650 3.7 V battery from The Custom Saber Shop.

WHICH ONE?? The specs (all of them) are pretty important.

That one I believe which is the 2600 mAh Battery

Yeah, that particular doesn’t have anywhere near the output you would need to run multiple Tri-Crees. You would need one with either a 4A or 10A output, depending on exactly how many die we are trying to run here.

what you describe in the OP sounds like just the battery PCB tripping when you press aux (because of the current used during the flash on clash, usually blade color + white on top, even if I don't know your FoC setup / config)
