Title: Dutch Vaders Luke ROTJ Review
Post by: DutchVader on June 16, 2006, 01:39:15 PM
This is my first review and English is not my native language so please bare with me.

After the saber came in the mail, I tossed it in the corner and didn't care about it for a week  :P(yeah, right! getting one of these makes an adult feel like an eight year old on Christmas morning!).

After removing the brown shipping box I just sat there looking at the (standard) MR FX box before I opened it. And this box also has the typo (ReturEn of the Jedi).
Allthough the box had been opened once before (the store made sure everything works before they shipped it), its allways a special moment when you open the box for the first time.

First Impression
My first impression of the saber is that it looks fantastic! :o

The Hilt
The hilt looks absolutely beautiful, the fact that it is oversized doesn't bother me one bit.
The only thing that bothers me is the orange "copper" parts, what was MR thinking here?? :-\
But the fact that the neck is "fat" is OK with me because it makes spinning easier (more on that later).

The Blade
I installed the batteries (Energizer E2 Lithium) and just waited a few minutes before switching it on, I think everyone does that.
I put the switch in the ON position and......WOOSH, OMG that blade is so bright, I almost wanted to get my sunglasses! 8)
After a couple of minutes blinding myself by staring at the blade, I noticed that the blade has some dark spots, but only if you hold the saber still (which is almost impossible,  ;D).

The Sound
Only one word can describe the sound of this saber it's...LOUD!!!
I really love the sound on this saber, the swinging sound matches your movements fairly close.

The balance of the saber is fantastic for spinning or duelling, it just feels right!
I havent been able to put it down for longer than 10 minutes (it took me an hour to get this far with the review).

This is now my favorite saber and I can highly recommend it to anyone, in fact if you don't one, why are you still reading reviews of this saber? Go out and get one yourself, you will not be dissapointed!

Great review DV. I agree. The Luke is real loud and has a bright blade. mine doesnt have many dark spots, but they are noticable.

P.S. your english isnt that bad. ;)

Thanks JMK, I guess my written English has improved a lot since I got Internet.
If only it would help with my really thick Dutch accent.
