Any interest in another run of the TPM Obi?
« on: November 19, 2014, 03:00:28 PM »
I've been getting a few PMs and Facebook messages lately asking if I have any plans for another run of these.  I really haven't had any plans up to this point, but with all the recent requests, I figure I would put out an interest thread to see if there is any interest.

For this run, I would be doing a piece for piece copy of the original run sabers and I have ZERO plans to make any new changes.  I will just dust off the old machining files and use them.  I could be inclined to offer the EP2 version with the solid aluminum bezels and no holes in the pommel cubes as they are minimal programming changes and not a newly programmed part (I will not offer polishing or chroming).  Other than that, no further changes.

These would be empty only and I will not arrange any installs - that will be up to you.  Along with this, I would not supply any in-hilt electronics except the recharge port, and the two required switches.

I would supply the blade tip, blade threaded adapter and blade washer.  I will not supply the blade tubing, blade film, nor will I offer complete blades (this is to keep shipping costs down).

These would have the same black and red anodizing and overall machine finish on the balance as the original run had.

This would be a rather limited run, maybe 10 to 15 sabers maximum.  Price wise, on a 10 saber run, I would be asking $500.00 plus paypal fees plus shipping costs.  For a 15 saber run, I would be asking $450.00 plus paypal fees plus shipping costs.

If there is any interest, post please and I will give it my consideration.

I would if I could afford one but im sure other members would jump on it. A run of pommels would be great.

Yes, but I need some time to get finances together.  What time frame are you considering?

I'd be in for an AOTC depending on the timeline.

I'm in for a AOTC too, and I still have spare cube rings with holes to change it if necessary. Thanks for proposing this, Wat. Interested by a possible time frame too, in order to adjust the budget.
