Hello All,
I just finished my Vintage Graflex with the Yoda DIY Chassis kit.
I was lucky enough to get the Vintage Graflex from a friend who didn't want it and had no clue of the true value it held so he just gave it to me ;D. It was in near perfect condition with no blemishes or rust, everything was fully intact. I contacted Yoda at the time and he had just finished a run of his DIY Chassis kits. I purchased a nickel plated kit and started the build. The saber houses a US2.5 board, 3watt Seoul P4 blue led, TCSS speaker, two 3.7 Li-ion rechargeable batteries, 1" graflex adapter, graflex eye screw, NEW rubber grips, bubble strip card and a Chassis kit. This saber is pretty loud when the chassis is exposed, however when closed it's a bit muffled. Of course this is to be expected considering the only holes are drilled directly beneath the d-ring. I am very pleased with the outcome and overall look of the saber. I have been wanting one of these for quite some time and I'm so pleased I finally got the chance to build one. This was a very fun build with only a few hick ups that weren't hard to overcome. The pieces fit really well together but they sometimes require a bit of drilling, tapping, cutting and lots of patients. This is a VERY tedious build but well worth the hours of complex constructing. This DYI is not for a novice though, if you have no experience with building small models or even sabers for that matter then I strongly suggest you get a sabersmith to build this for you. It's a moderate construction but it requires lots of time and skill.
I have complete appreciation and respect for Yoda for making these kits available and allowing me to have the opportunity to step into his shoes for a week. It's so amazing that he can do this fine work and have each part look so unbelievably detailed. Thank you my friend and MTFBWY...
