Whilst I await the #FlashgunChallenge with my esteemed colleagues, I finished up a side project for my scout trooper costume. :afro:
The plasma tube is a little finicky with the aluminium housing, I received a few reminders during the install to insulate the 12 volts better, but I got it to work.
-
short version: changed out the plasma tube for a PRIZM 5.5 and neopixel strip. It's better now.
...And super holy-cow, omgomg loud!

Wow, that thing is intense, and very cool! What did you use for speakers to get that kind of sound?
Glad I didn’t go up against you in the riot baton contest!
-
It's one of the 4w WOWspeakers from TCSS. But the trick is that it has about a foot of sealed, empty space behind it for the air to resonate. The actual resonator might be a little too much because you can hear some of the "cupping" effect, but the massive low end boost mostly cover it up.

It would be an honor to get stun beaten by this. Beautiful

Awesome eastern57, and what a coincidence, I'm working now on my 2nd 501st costume and guess what it's going to be ?
I'm considering making a baton too, for the sake of carrying a "saber" even as a trooper.

Great build. Can you list your build parts and sources? THX
