Crysta;l Shard 4.0 vs Crystal Focus
« on: January 20, 2018, 12:05:32 PM »
Dear saber folks.
(Not sure this is the right place?)

I have a few sabers that have Crystal Focus boards in them.
I have them with CF 3 to CF8.
Now sometimes I see lightsabers ready to buy, that have a Crystal Shard 4.0 in them.
At first I wanted to let my K4 be converted with a CF board, but than I'll end up twice as expensive.
Will I be disapointed going for a Crystal Shard 4 version, compared to the CF versions I'm used to?
The sabers are loud and bright, but do thay appear just as real with the Crystal Shard 4?

In short,  yes they do, as long as they have been wired with the correct resistors on the blade led(s).

You won't be disappointed with a CS4, the motion sensing and most of the interaction is like the CF, and also a 16 bit sound.
The CS is a single cell board, so you'll have less sound volume compared to the potential of a 2 cell board but still, great bargain

Thanks buddies.

I'm glad the CS4's are 16Bit as well.
I will try one saber than, before i'll go for a Vader ANH conversion, just to see waht it does.
A CF board probably wont fit in a K4 either, so a CS will be the way to go.

The seller makes his sabers very loud, but he also made some of my CF sabers very loud, so there still will be a difference, but the 1 accucell solution gives the sound more resonance, which hopefully will compensation it a bit?
