PlecterPixel Release
« on: December 08, 2017, 01:14:43 PM »
Hey guys, sorry I missed posting the announcement here.  But Plecterpixel is finally available at Vader's Vault on all of our models with a 1" blade.  A 7/8" set up is in the works but probably won't be available until the end of Q1 2018.

Here is the official announcement and video showing this awesome tech that we are bringing to the production saber world! The option is live and pricing is in the store, and if you have any questions, send them here or through the store.

Also available for ALL sabers now is Bluetooth upgrade for wireless RICE control.

Love how you guys have implemented the Plecterpixel Blade.

Can't wait to see what ideas could be used for blade plugs. You could come up with all sorts of little gadgets because your just plugging it to a power supply!

Yes there are a ton of possibilities.  I think the thing is people have to realize blade plugs are not going to be $10 as they will require the connector in addition to some pixels.  But we have a bunch of ideas and as soon as there is time to breathe we will start developing them.  I am sure folks in the community will come up with some great options too!

Same!!! I just completed payment for a Nightmare Wrath staff.

This is my first saber, and a Plector pixel, but I feel I also want something pre-pixel.

Can you tell me which batteries you will be using for current Neopixel builds that you're working on?
Drain, capacity etc.

We are currently testing several batteries. Right now the contender is the Sony cell, 15A discharge, 3120 mah.  We may adjust that if we find something better but so far in testing that particular battery has outperformed higher-capacity batteries.

Okay so they're in the testing stage. Does that mean all neopixel orders are on hold until the testing is complete or will you be using something else in the interim?

All neopixel orders are on hold until we finalize the blade.  Once that is final they will be shipping with the Sony cell.  If we find something that we like better we will then make the switch.

Hi Deanna,

I am looking to upgrade the battery in my Neopixel Ascend I just picked up from Rob.  Is this similar to what you guys have been testing over at the Vault.....?

How long is that battery lasting for that Ascend? I figure all I need is 20-30 minutes before I get bored and put it down, max. And only really play with it for five minutes before I move on to something else.

Would it be possible to create a blade plug/adapter with the sun crusher LED and extend battery life?

No.  Two totally different technologies.

Neopixel is not really that bad.  People out there are making much ado about nothing.  You still get 40 to 45 minutes of runtime.  Considering that some early CF builds with 14500s only lasted around 20 minutes I am failing to see why this is such a big issue.

Just like with in hilt LEDs, how you use the saber is going to affect run time as well.  If you are turning it on and off you will get longer than if you just turn it on and leave it on the whole time.

Thank you, this just got in!

A tiny scratch on one of the blades where the packaging snagged inside. But that is insignificant to the power of the force.

It’s so bright and loud! Could only handle it for a couple minutes after work, and now my brothers kids are asleep...

Need to find silent mode!
