Question about a Scaled Replica.
« on: February 28, 2006, 11:06:28 PM »
Yeah, my Darth Vader ROTS is gold on the metallic parts instead of the usual metallic luster.

Is this normal, or did I just get extremely lucky?    MR needs to update their Vader ROTS pictures if it's supposed to be gold instead of metallic silver..

You got the random gold mini.  I think they put one gold one in each case.  It is not normal, you are lucky! ;)

Btw, I've got a question as well. This is about the Darth Maul Battle Damaged mini that I got today. I notice some white MARKINGS on the lightsaber. The kind that reminds you of bleached markings on coloured cloth. Is this normal (Maul's sweaty hands caused lightsaber to fade?) or should I exchange it?

And also, the crystal looks ORANGE instead of a solid red. Am I the only one? Is this batch-dependant? Would it bother you?

Congratulations dude!!

Thanks brother.    As for your Maul.....lemme take a look ....

......
........

Well, the 'crystal' inside of mine looks a bit orange as well, and I have a few white splotches on the hilt, too.   I wouldn't worry about it, because it's barely noticeable.

I just did a search on the internet and checked out the various battle-damaged mauls. They have white splotches as well. So I guess it's normal (over-exerted himself using the Force). But the crystals are pure red.. mine is orange. I can accept it... :)

Yeah, the little crystal thingy looks more orange.

It's fine.  I'm happy with mine!  Besides, if you really get concerned, just E-Mail MR's customer service..

congrats on the gold.. looks like that's two of our members that have lucked up and gotten golds by "accident".

Question about the Maul BD mini.  What is your overall impression of it, is it worth $20-$30? I've been thinking about getting this one, but have been holding out for a full 2005 CS model.

I absolutely love the full version of the maul mini.  I wish I could post pictures of my collection here but I am not quite sure how to do it.  I have some pretty cool minis like the entire dark chrome collection and bright chrome models.  If anyone could help me by telling me how to post pics I could show 15 different minis.

To post a picture you need to have it published in a web page.

Then you need to click the icon above that says "Insert Image", and paste the URL of the picture in between the IMG /IMG tags that will appear.

If you don't have a web page you can do it fast, easy and free at photobucket.com.

Hope that helps!

There are tutorials on posting pics in several threads here, but to make it easier, you could email me the pics and I will be more than happy to post them on a server I have access to or photobucket, etc. for you.  My email is in my profile.

I received two of them. Mace Windu, (But I gave it to my cousin for his birthday) and the ROTS Anakin saber, as seen here:

Unfortunately, the gold ones don't do anything for me. I am awaiting three more display cases to fit 9 more minis, which will be the complete "normal" set. Two sabers in the mail and 3 cases, then I'll post them. (Give it about 2-3 weeks)
